Sorry - too late. Will never ever take off that insulation just to measure the temp. My hands is bleeding, back is broken and I have to spend time working to be able to pay these things. It is lower I can promise you. Could keep my hand on it. This is the way to go if you can afford it.

Checked the temp the easy way. Starting up - 20 min idling - took a measurment on the manifold just in front of the connection between manifold and catalyst.
240 deg C. Then I measured the insulation - not over 42 deg C anywhere.
And this was idling. There will probably be much more difference when realy hard driving.

    Amazing.

Waaaaw, that's amazing!!! Thanks very much for the test Anders.

At idling, did you notice any sound difference from the new headers?

I have a friend who has unlocked the F430 workshop manual. PM me if anybody is interested. I have a copy and it works like any other CD on XP or lower machines.

No not really - you know I have changed the muffler also. It is difficult if you don´t do it over a limited time.
BUT I think it was more quiet from the drivers position. And if I look at the insulation - it is really thick and this must make some difference compared to a naked FabS manifold.

Whoa... 150+ degree drop. The only downside is the price... but then again, if it all went wrong, I would have rather paid for the insulation than for a new Ferrari. Definitely a must have 'insurance' upgrade

My economy has not recovered after the Capristo adventure, but today there were a new UPS parcel outside my door.
Since I got both the Fabspeed and the Capristo downpipe and catalyst, I thought I take some pictures and show you the difference.
    Here they are:

It's very cool you posted the pictures of both cats! Thanks for sharing. The difference between both is huge and if I had to change my stock cats, I would go for the larger Capristo cats. As I know who exactly manufacture them (sorry, I promised not to give the name but it's German for sure), I can ensure that these cats are the best product available on the market. You made a good investment Anders :D

Nice! But do you still need the extension elbow for the sensor even the pipe come with cat? Does it give you CEL light problem with these cats? TQ

I wonder why Fabspeed doesn't build them this way especially if this is the best design

I'm looking at getting mine changed next month and I'm finding this upgrade a rather large ball ache...

Yesterday after much research and trawling through websites I had decided the Fabspeed Headers were the way to, their dyno looked promising and they were very helpful on the emails...

Today I have found ANOTHER dyno (apparently a fabspeed one) which shows a different story. They claim large gains at various points on the graph but if you look closely, the "50hp" gain they claim at 3800rpm suddenly becomes a 40hp loss from 4250rpm right up until 5250rpm where the graph eventually catches up with the OEM. This looks like a substantial flat spot to me, which ISNT there on the other graph I have.
It's the same for torque curve which also changes from a gain to a loss of equal value just after they highlight the gain. I don't really want to lose all that pull mid range if the second graft is correct.

Now I'm back to square one and I still can't decide whether it's worth the extra cost of the "upgrade" when the power curve is potentially so different between applications.

What do you guys think about the two dyno's below?

Aaron, I see that you are in GB. If you want the Fabspeed headers and downpipe with 200 cell cats - you can get it all from me. At half the price.
