    hello from sunny adelaide. :)

scag's not bad, considering some dork accidentally put the donk in the wrong end. :p so it's not on your xmas list then?

that pic of the F430 makes it look pretty tame, i had the impression from other pics that it's a lot more agressive looking, somewhere between a 360 and an Enzo.

but... what of the Gallardo S?

i think i had the wrong impression of it in my mind from somewhere, been looking at it some more and something looks wrong. firstly i don't understand why the front is so high, perhaps aerodynamic reasons, but i don't see why it couldn't have the front sloping down further. and in that pic there the front dam looks like a japanese bodykit add-on, doesn't help the lines of the car at all, huge and chunky.

Nice pictures...I really hope they manage to bring these cars over here for the Auto Expo, but somehow I doubt it as we always seem to get shafted :(
Any chance of getting the pics in high-res (1600x1200) please? :)
Did they have the E60 M5, Carrera GT or Zonda there?

Yes on the new M5, NO on the other two.

I tried the 430 on for size, no surprise that it is just like my 360 from the inside. SEVERE price gouging on the option pricing it seems- an estimated $40k on the carbon-ceramic brakes. NOT good value at all IMO.

    I think an F50 is a better option ;)

The V10 M5 still has an aweful rear end and with the power that's about all you'd see so they should have made it nicer.

I saw a red 612 sold on the Gold Coast a couple of weeks ago that was absolutely gorgeous, but I'll wait for someone else to take the hit and the car comes down to $150k before I'll consider it, silver makes it look bulky.

If you took the prancing horse badge off the front of the 612 and then told me the vehicle was a new Aston Martin, I would believe you !

only if it was on the back of a flat top :)

seriously, I didn't pick it for a 612 at first glance in red, it was gorgeous ...if you see it around town you will know what I mean

what's the size/presence like? is it still low and sleek in appearance in traffic, or more like a maserati/hyundai? :D

F50? Know where I can gett a good one JM?

Bangle designs are hideous. The looks alone are enough to stop me buying a new M5.

NEVER buy a 4 seat Ferrari if you care about depreciation ;)

Shouldn't that be, never buy a new V12 Ferrari if you care about depreciation?

I stand corrected, quite true. The 4 seaters are the worst of the lot though.

I understand the show car is going to be used as a demonstrator. I wonder how much over list it will end up selling for.

The F430 at the motor show will be used as the complience car. Its being sent to canberra for testing. Then it will be used as a demo. It sounds awsome. Had a preview on monday nite.

Canberra for testing? I don't think so. Compliance paperwork may be processed here, but the there are no testing facilities in Canberra that the government operates

I thought the compliance service were usually a certification by an outside company, not the Government.

Yep, the government mandates the standards and looks at the data submitted by the organisation that is applying for compliance. There are different certification requirement depending on the volume of cars to be sold, less than 100 per year is different to full volume.
Low volume compliance can be done by certified workshops, full compliance needs many things including crash testing data & emission testing. As the rep of an OEM, Maranello Imports would presumably have access to all factory data for crash testing which would be recognised here if done to a international standard by the factory so there is no need to destroy a car, but I belive the emissions testing would still have to be done in Australia. There are no facilities for this in Canberra
