Ferrari 430, having an intermittent power loss/cut. sometimes it does it at mid rpm’s / Speeds when I press the gas pedal down. What could it be? Also when it hits 7k rpm’s WOD it cuts the power out and then comes back to life and goes smoothly to 8400 rpm’s. No CEL or misfires.

For example today when going on to the highway I was about 70% throttle and it felt
Like the power was reduced but then I tried again and it was smooth.

The 2 fuel pumps each have a low and high speed relay, you might want to change out the high speed ones in case one is not holding in, cheap part

Look for the 30 amp "LH/RH Fuel Pump Speed 2" relays "PSR9" and "PDR9" in your Owners Handbook

I was under the impression all Aussies went to bed after the pub shut and they shut the water off the Dunny.

Do you know when the “speed 2” relay comes into play when driving ? Is it speed oriented or throttle input ?

I had this exact same problem. For years. It drove me crazy. I tried everything. It ended up being a loose wire. Specifically, the ground wire for the ASR has a ring terminal on the end and the ring terminal slips over a threaded rod that threads into a rivnut that is fastened into a hole in the firewall and secured with a nut on the threaded rod. The rivnut came loose over time, and caused the car to act as though someone shut off the key for about a second or so, then the car came back like nothing happened. A new rivnut was installed and the problem never came back. PM me for more details. Others have had this issue.

    360 or 430?

The 430 ABS/ASR earth seems to be behind or on the RH wheel arch

The 360 has two earths on the side panels.

On the 360, remove the front cowl. Remove the front hood struts and the wipers, then a few bolts and the cowl comes off. Underneath that, on the passenger side, it's right there. If it's the culprit, you'll probably see some carbon around the edge of the rivnet (indicating that it's been shorting out). It's literally a two dollar fix (the price of one rivnut). I took some pictures, let me see if I can find them.

Yes, all four are 30 amp relays. Just get the manufacturer part number from them.

Interesting. That's the main earth for the negative battery terminal. I guess that could cause basically any issue.

The equivalent on the 430 is in the same location:

LOL... Good question. Never thought to ask. I just knew that the expression "ABS/ASR*" referred to the anti-skid braking and traction control systems.

Google tells me "Anti-Slip Regulation". Now we both know.

Basically, if your wheels are spinning when you put your foot to the floor, the system sends a signal to the Engine ECU/s to limit the engine output.

*Not to be confused with the "airbag supplemental restraint" system.
