I have 1047 miles on the clock in under one month wonderful car I have one small issue with the vehicle twice during ownership the car has offered me the "slow down" moniker and has felt sluggish (almost like a lack of fuel is being sent the engine) immediated after start up (but only after allowing the car to sit idly for a few minutes. I turn the car off and back again, and it returns to normal Is this odd to anyone please advise
Same thing happened to me with only 200 miles on mine! I owned the car for only 5 days and that happened. Take the car directly to the shop. It's an F1 tranny issue that could be caused by a few things. It took them 2 weeks to find what was causing mine, but by now the tech's have encountered everything under the sun (we hope)...........You need to take the car in right away, because driving it with an F1 issue will most likely lower your clutch life......The clutch aint under warranty either. I had to have my clutch replaced at 20K miles and it wasn't cheap. Good Luck! Ape
I don't think that's his issue. I've just sold my 2007 and took deleivery of my 2008 and both cars did the exact same think. There's a thread specifically on this issue. Many owners have seen this issue and there is no resolution. My dealer had the car several times to correct it and never found what causes it. I've has my 2008 for 4 weeks and it's already happenned once. THe solutions is simple. Just shut her down and start her back up and it self corrrects itself. Definately shouldn't be happenning, but such is life when we drive exotics.
I don't think its a tranny issue as much as a computer issue, cause the first time it happened my clock read 00:00, and I thought damn, whats wrong; but, after a restart the clock set to the correct time, and the car ran perfectly. the second time did not 0 out the clock, but after a shut down and restart ran perfectly. I'll call the guys at FcF on Mon. to set up an appt to make sure it isn't the transmission (ironically my first ferrari was a 456 and I spent so much time worrying about the tranny, which ne'er once gave me a problem, and now I get a new 430 and someone's mentioning that word to me grrrrr) thanks for the replies and will update with any further news
It happens to me,When I'm in a hurry,I turn the key to start position and don't wait for it to cycle thru its system check until it reads (CHECK OK) before I press the start button. Jeff
you know what, I didn't think of that maybe the fact that i didn't wait for the system to read ok I will pay more attn to this. just got back in town and will go for a ride Let's see
I don't wait for the check and never had the problem. Does anyone know if this happens only with paddle cars? Dave
Not sure if only with F1.I will be honest,It usually happens when my wife is screaming to slow down after we stop at some place and leave again in a hurry. That's how I figured it out,She won't ride in the car as often so the car stopped doing it.PS That is the truth Jeff
Not a mechanical issue, it is a software (computer) issue. Requires a "soft" reboot, which means pull over tune off the key and turn it back on again. It is a "bug" Ferrari still working on.
some 360's exhibit a simular issue . it usually clears up after a few seconds of idiling . the other method is to turn the key off and then restart the car .customers love hearing its a bug we're still working on . but would you like to have an espresso while...... .its still a beautiful car ! forza !
i had the same issue, took it in for service, was told it was the f1, they worked on it, and have not seen the warning light since.
Thank You!!! I find it unacceptable to just accept this issue. I got it addressed and repaired and it has not happened again.
frank, don't you own a repair shop in clearwater I think I checked you out a cpl years ago when I first purchased a 456 thx R
stoney I spoke with FcF and they didn't seem too concerned. Ape posted earlier that if not fixed I would risk premature wear of my clutch pls advise thx r
I may not be correct, but why not get it checked out by the shop? A new clutch is 5K and usually a new fly wheel needs to be swapped at $2500, so I would be safe rather than sorry. As you probably know a new clutch and fly wheel are not warrant items.
There seems to be 2 different issues being discussed. The issue Ferrarirafi firsst mentioned is definately a computer issue totally unrelated to the F1 Transmission. You can immediatly hear the difference in the engine as soon as it is started, without the transmission being engaged. If you blib the throttle, you get a dull roar instread of the sharp pop when it's running properly. Turn it off, start it back up, and bam, you're back in business. The first time this happenned to my 07 I was on a Ferrari drive on the way to Motor4toys in inline with 100 other cars, and it was extremely embarrising. I didn't know what the hell was going on, but I could not get the engine to rev up no matter what I tried and conceqently couldn't stay with the group. I was forced to pull over and shut it down. I thought I had a blown engine. I started it back up just to what she'd do, and bingo it was perfect. The dealer picked the car up that following Monday and as I said earlier, no trouble found was the diagnosis. In 2500 miles it happenned 3 nore times. Each time the dealer found nothing, and the regional manager for FNA said they had no info to troubleshoot if the compputer doesn't report a problem. I was then shocked to have it happpen the second week after I got my 2008. Weird stuff!!! Anyway, if someone has had this issue corrected, please post the exact dealer service notes from their work order so that we can take them to each of our local dealers for investigation. Thanks
The first thing I noticed was some slipping on take off from a stop on a streets with a up-slope. The car would want to stay in 1st a bit too long and then not upshift when I would engage 2nd gear. As it got worse I would notice less power in general. Plus when I would down shift say from 3rd to 2nd it would be clunky. I hope this helps.
great post the symptoms are exactly what has happened to me, however it has never happened while moving only while pulling out of the garage; the loss in power is dramatic, and a simple restart seems to fix the issue I would hate for this to happen while moving it might send me into cardiac arrest IF ANYONE HAS HAD THIS ISSUE AND HAD IT FIXED PLEASE POST SO WE CAN PROVIDE THE CURE TO OUR RESPECTIVE DEALERS
I will ask the shop foreman at my dealer what they did to fix my issue. He's the man! His nickname is "The Pope". He's Italian for one, and he speaks directly to the factory every week. He got my car running better than the day i bought it off the showroom floor.
I have only had it happen when I started the car without waiting for the OK symbol. My car is a 6 speed.
thank you sir i look forward to the reply tomorrow is monday, and i will be calling the new shop here in tampa for service check
