It's difficult to see the colour of the oil clearly from the pictures, but as it's quite a dark oil i would summise that it's engine oil, as the stuff used in the F1 and e-diff systems is light in colour. Regardless of what it is, i'd get it to the dealer sharpish, and certainly wouldn't start/drive the car...
It does look like engine oil and it's pretty bad. By the time it finds its way through the undertray, you've got a pretty good leak. Mine did that, though not as bad, and it turned out to be the rear main seal. Before driving again, I'd have a good look to make sure oil is not leaking up top onto the exhaust system. You'd probably smell it if it was but I'd check for safety sake and make an appointment with your dealer today. Dave
thx for the input and help. Luckily, the leak didn't come from the engine, it came from a small hose that came loose and occassionally spurted out oil during high compression. This was easily fixed by FOS! Thank heavens!
