Does anyone know what the MSRP is on an F430 in Canadian dollars? Is there a discrepancy betwen US and Canadian prices?

Not sure, but a friend with an '06 430 spyder w/ F1 box on order is paying approx CAD $380k (out the door). I'm pretty sure he must be on this forum, and he's probably already looked at getting it from the US, so he may be able to offer some insight on this.

A quick search on the net indicates that US MSRP for a base model manual gearbox spyder is US $194,650.

    http://www.edmunds.com/new/2005/ferrari/f430/

I also remember him saying that carbon fiber engine bay was CAD$17k, but is listed at just under US$10k on edmunds. Sounds like there's a pretty big discrepency.

Why is this of a concern ?

If you are thinking of buying brand new you are forced to go through FoO in Ontario anyway. If your going used you can purchase elsewhere.

My nieghbor did this with his 360 spider, bought it in NY and imported it here. will be much cheaper then buying a F430 at CDN doller. Just get a used F430 from the US

You have to pay duty when importing the car in addition to any modifications required to meet Canadian standards. For 360's one of the most expensive things was the upgrade to the bumpers to meet Canada's higher standards amongst other things.

I have read in other threads that the F430's in the US are the same regardless of the market it is sold in (ie: it is the first that is a true "world car"). Therefore, a US car should meet the Canadian standards if this is true. However, I do not recall if anyone has ever confirmed this rumor. I can't imagine why Ferrari would want to do this since this restricts the supply into each market and therefore keeps resale prices up.

Another thing to consider is the warranty. I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think the warranty is valid in a market outside of the market the car was sold in.

On the riv.ca site, It shows that 2002 and up 360s do not need their bumpers replacement to be admissable. I find this to be a little odd.

I strongly doubt Montreal and Toronto F-dealers will touch a U.S Car warranty wise or even service it AT ALL for that matter. Not familiar with the Vancouver dealer but they could be the same too I would imagine. Unless the owner of the B.C store (who is American) will open his arms to grey market F430's ;)

The cross-border warranty rumor is BS. My Canadian Ferrari received warranty service while visiting the US.

Could it be that you are the owner of the car, and it hasnt been resold?

I too would think that a warranty is a warranty regardless of where the car is, and how many owners. The car is warranty by ferrari Spa not the dealer, so why would the dealer care.

the F430 is a very good car because you don't have to change the bumpers if you get the US version. The only modification will be the thing for the child seat. I can easily find you a US version with a good price and the list of the modification with their prices. just send me a pricate message and we could do that.

In regards to warranties if you are the original owner (or a subsequent owner living in the country of the vehicles origin) the manufacturer cannot legally refuse to repair your car regardless of where you are in the US or Canada.

If the car was resold into a market other than the one it was built for the manufacturer is within their rights to revoke warranty coverage for subsequent owners.

And in the case of domestic vehicles as well as some other European brands it states VERY CLEARLY in the warranty book that this will happen. Why do you think Euro Ferrari's imported into the US DO NOT receive warranty coverage from FNA ?

    Caveat emptor.

Bro, thats fine. Its like what KDS said.

They are just trying to avoid servicing a grey market car that was sold in their territory. Not all dealers are like this but most would be I would imagine.

If your dad is the original owner I bet he can service it anywhere. I am sure Ferrari understands that their clients move around either for vacation, snow birds or whatever the fact may be.

    Just my .02
