Hi Folks, I have recently bought and fitted a brand new F430 OEM Sports Exhaust. Ferrari part number is 70003290 / 70003425. It’s made by Tubi and looks like Ferrari added valves and heat shielding to match the rest. I read up a lot on this prior to purchase, as was looking for a solution to avoid the dreaded broken header / manifold issue. Apparently Ferrari designed this to overcome the known fixed exhaust mounting brackets to allow for thermal expansion of the system.

    Positives
    • It sounds really good.
    • Quite a bit deeper sound than the original at lower revs (<3,000), however similar to the original (and better to my ears) above 3,000rpm. High revs it sounds amazing.
    • Much less obvious when the valves open, unlike the original. It’s more linear.
    • Exhaust valves seem to open earlier in the rev range.
    • The exhaust still has lots of pops and gurgles (like the original).
    • I weighed both systems and the sports exhaust saves about 30lb in weight.
    • The overall quality of the product is fantastic and as you would expect for 5k.
    • The system is much much better designed than the original and Ferrari did a great job on this. Very premium materials etc, and removes a lot of stress on the cats and headers/manifolds.
    • I have measured expansion of about 0.5inch when the system is hot, and considering the original design has fixed brackets then it is no wonder why either the brackets or the headers fail.
    • Flexible rubber mounts to allow expansion.
    • hopefully this new exhaust will sort this issue.
    Negatives
    • The instructions were non existent and Ferrari dealers not much help.
    • I did find the instructions from Tubi on the forum (thank you).
    • All of the photos I could find on the forums of other cars with dealer installed sports exhaust were improperly fitted! Multiple issues identified.
    • The system is very difficult to install and align the system perfectly. It took a lot of time and several attempts. The rear rubber mounts with one spacer actually rub into the black chassis paint (as you can find on other cars photos), which was easily resolved with another spacer.
    Advice required
The only issue I have is that the central horizontal bar is meant to sit flush on the mount attached to the gearbox. However it sits about 0.5inch too high. I’m puzzled as to why, so would appreciate thoughts on this. I did not change the position of the cats, so guess they may need to be lowered, but didn’t want to mess with them. I have just used some washers in the meantime, which seem to work fine. Thanks
