Hey, We´re going on a holiday and we want to take our F430 Spider with us on a car transporter. I was thinking to rent an Ifor Williams CT177. Do I need to put the car backwards on it or doesnt it matter. And If I have to put it on backwards, is it best to pull it on with a winch or drive it on backwards? Isnt it bad for the clutch driving it on uphi
I just asked a friend of mine who runs a exotic car transport company in Holland. He told me a car with a weight distribution like the Ferrari's (almost 50/50) it doesnt make much difference, yet he still puts them backwards on for his own piece of mind. but with 50/50 or almost 50/50 weight distribution its not as important as with a FF or RR engined car. Hope this answers your question
If you have enough tongue weight on the trailer, you’ll be fine putting it on forward. Look at some of the info on Google as far as having enough tongue weigh to make towing safe. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I’ve had two scuds transported alone on a trailer and it was driven on front first. The axle was just behind the driver ( for positioning context).
