Hi everyone, I ordered a F430 coupé and I'm still undecided about several options. What are your opinions on these: Electric seats - seems too much for a sportscar (I used to own an Elise) but I understood it offers more adjustments. HiFi sound installation - overkill with the V8 behind except if the standard installation is not good enough. The colors I've in mind are Grigio Silverstone and Bordeaux leather, Grigio Scuro carpets. I'd like to preview what would be the end result. I looked at the photos of interiors on the forum but wasn't able to find any in Bordeaux (I found Rosso and most of the times too much Rosso for my taste). Anyone has pics of a similar combination? Regards, Alexandre
In the U.S. power seats are a big plus for resale according to dealers. They also feature lumbar adjustment not available in manual seats. HiFi is a waste of money in my opinion. I have Bordeaux interior but I can't seem to get an accurate digital photo for some reason. I do like the interior, it's classy and rich looking. Gary
Power Daytonas are almost better than sex. I have had people sit in them and the look that comes on their faces is priceless. And they have plenty of side support that is adjustable every which way. Dave
I would definitely get the power Daytonas too. I would get the HiFi upgrade too because it will never turn off a buyer (whereas some buyers might turn down a car without it). Also, when you do want to listen to your favorite tunes, it will sound better. btw, I haven't listened to the radio since I bought the car, so maybe my opinion on HiFi is not reliable!
Power seats Daytona seats Hi-Fi w/ Sub. Colored brake calip. shields F-1 Colored stitching I think these are the best bang for the buck options IMO. I would also get the challenge wheels, although they're not a must have.
This is a 612 but it may give you some ideas Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi - I have a picture taken at last years Geneva Motor Show of a Grigio with Bordeaux interior. I'm not subscribed, but if you e-mail me at '[email protected]' I'll send to you.
i don't like power seat option because every time i get out of the car i pull the adjuster to move the seat all the way to the back for easy access to avoid kicking the door panel. maybe i'm too anal but i got used to it already. plus i do that to my Porsches too just to maintain the best leather condition. if i'd order the power daytona seats might as well go for the carbon sport seats since the price will be very close. knowing not everyone like the sports seat & might not be helpful in resale but they're sure easy for the eyes.
It´s a difficult deccision to make. The outside colour is amazing and I think with the inside is a good combination I´ve seen it here in Spain. If you are going to choose that comb mayby I would suggest red callipers and the scuderia "logo". For the seats it depends (in my opinion) in how tall u are, if u are very tall I suggest racing seats. cu
As for other options, I'm going for shields, yellow calipers, full leather and challenge rims. I prefer yellow than red calipers to avoid mixing 3 colors (silverstone, yellow shields and calipers, not mentioning the side turning light). Same reasoning with the stitching. I like the idea but with Bordeaux leather, black dashboard, it would add a third color (black on bordeaux wouldn't look good imo) and make the whole thing too 'complicated'. As for power seats / resale value, the dealer told me that not many F430 orders did include the power seats in France, so the resale argument doesn't seem as strong as it might be in the US. The racing seats way may be a good idea, though I always found it odd to have them with the standard belts. I'll ask the dealer if he has some car with racing seats and power seats so I can try them. Regards Alexandre
Good choices - Did you consider the silver calipers and CF brakes which look great with the polished rims?
I agree with u, after long thinking about it I prefer or silver or yellow calipers both match, the silver with the breake itself and yellow with the shield and maybe red doesn´t match with anything. By the way, I think the power seats are a little bit taller but I´m not sure, ask the dealer about it, as I told u before it depends in your heith and also the space in the car when seated looks bigger in the racing seats. The stiching looks very nice but of course depending on the color. congrats
Alexandre , Bravo pour ta commande . Je te conseillerais les sièges racing ,surtout vu que tu es un ex Elise owner.. Ils sont magnifiques et comme tu dis , les sièges electriques sont too much. Silverstone over bordeaux would be my choice after Rosso Corsa. Les options que je choisirais pr une F430 seraient : Ecuissons , Etriers Jaunes , Freins Céramiques . Ciao !
Yeah man, I concur with Arling. Easy on the eyes and wonderful to sit in too. They would look great in red or bordeaux. But if you get them, your car will be un-saleable. Remember the Ferrari owner's credo -- Only order options that the next owner would want, not what you like or want. Towel in the first photo is to wipe the drool off people's faces (before it hits the leather side casings) when they see the racing buckets in person. Jack -- those seats look absolutely amazing ! I love them, and if they're more comfortable than regular seats, why would it hurt resale value ? I'm sure you wouldn't get the price paid for the seats back when you sell, but I can't imagine any buyer being put off from purchasing a car so equipped. As for the hifi, my friend's 430 spider has the new hifi upgrade option, and it does sound far superior to the stock unit in my 360. I'm a music nut, and whilst I like the scream of the engine at the track, and on a fun-run, I like to listen to music sitting in traffic or just bumbling around.. I think I will spec it on the 430. Seats -- I'm undecided... I like the look of the daytona seats in tan with black (or poss red) inserts. I'm completely up-in-the-air for exterior color.....
Arling, You must remember that the option price for the racing buckets ($4674) takes into account, and is above and beyond, the price of "standard" seats. Try to buy those seats from the factory/dealer after the fact and I believe they run $15K for the pair.
understand. but i might as well save them for the last of the best. if the CS hit the market the CF seats & CF brake will be standard option.
Thanks, Paul. As for my un-saleable comment, it was my feeble attempt at sarcasm. The conventional wisdom on resale is that fewer people can fit (hence find them comfortable) so that your buying population is reduced. A standard or daytona seat car will be accepted by just about anyone who otherwise likes the particular used car they are considering -- the racing buckets could be a deal killer and requires that "special" buyer. Somewhat like the argument that yellow cars are harder to sell than red ones.....unless you find that someone who really likes yellow. Image Unavailable, Please Login
BH Ferrari explained that lumber exists on both manual and electric seats. Lumbar does not exist on Sport Seats. They also stated the manual seats go about 1/4 inch lower than electric seats. Sport seats go even lower. They said that heated seats do no exist presently but may be available very soon.
That's correct. You'll get an extra knob for adjusting the lumbar support when you have the manual seats. Heated seats can only be ordered with the electric seats.
Thanks for the correction. The 360 manual seats did not have lumbar, and I made the mistake of assuming no change. Gary
I don´t agree with that credo at all (don´t know if it´s sarcasm), life is too short to think in the next owner, in this life and maybe in the next one u have to buy what u really like, this is not about maths, it´s about passion, by the way the racing seat looks amazing, and the space in the inside is superior. cu
