I am a relatively new owner of a 2006 F430 Spider that just threw a p1528 code. I cleared the code but it comes back instantly. I am hoping it is a wire issue as opposed to replacing the solenoids. In an effort to find the offending wire I was hoping to disconnect the appropriate plug at the ECU and then do resistance checks. Does anyone have a wiring diagram that could identify the correct wires to check? Also, I can get to the upper solenoid wires but the lower wires are behind a shield. Does anyone know if I have to remove the headers of can I reach around and access them from below the engine? Thanks for any help. The quicker I can fix this the quicker I can get back on the road!

When getting access to the top of the engine there is some advantage to removing the rear wheel liner, but to get it out you must also remove the side panel in the engine bay. There is one screw which is only removable via the engine bay, this is at 12 o clock position into the wheel liner

I just went through this, but mine was oil in the solenoid wires. All four of them. No need to remove the wheel liner as you can get to all four of the cam variator solenoid wire connectors from above. Just remove the engine bay covers and then you can get to the shields.
