Has anyone painted their F430 front bumper air intakes in the same exterior color instead of the factory matte black? Post pictures if you have.

I did this as a special factory order on my incoming Pozzi Blu F430 Tarek. It arrived from the factory last week and I hope to pick it up this coming Friday. Pics will follow. As I recall there are some pics of a red F430 with painted air intakes around page 60 in the F430 picture section. Looks much better than the matt black finish. Cheers!

Funny....My 430 was delivered in a similar color to Silverstone and I've been considering painting them matt black.

Tarek, I'd recommend doing the Tubi carbon fiber front splitter. Its pricey, but you would be astonished to feel the difference in weight compared to the OEM splitter.

Think that both are carbon fiber what a show it will be!!!
Painting the bumpers with he body colour is not sensible I guess but Tubi front grills are really appealing to the eyes..!

My Bianco Fuji car came with the air intake clear coated over the grey paint so apparently that is yet another option to consider.

One of the posts seems to imply that the intakes can be obtained in CF. I always wondered why I never saw these components done in CF and would love to hear/see about that. Anyone know if this has been done or can be done? Even better would be pics! :)

Two different things. One is the air intake on the front bumper for directing air through the radiators, the other refers to the intake manifold covers which can now be orderd in CF on the F430 and are standard on the Scuderia.

That splitter is really a small part.......will the weight difference have a significant effect? The weight difference can't be more than 2 lbs.

I am referring to the front air intakes in the front F430 bumper which can be painted either in matte black or any other exterior color. The carbon fiber intakes are the air intake manifolds on the engine which now can be obtained in CF instead of the red alloy intake manifolds.

uh...I was actually referring to the 'air intake covers' that were being discussed in this thread; the same ones shown painted in body color in one of the pics included in the thread. I was wondering if they can be done in CF....anyone know?

you dont want these in CF for sure.... when a stone hits it (and its obviously a HIGH impact area), it will leave a white mark that will look horrible.

I have mine covered by the clear bra which gave them a gloss look and protects them as well.

No, these can't be done in CF...........they are part of the bumper and therefore made from the same material, fiberglass. They must be painted.
