I recently purchased a second key with new security code card from Ferrari for my 2006 F430 and I am trying to locate a competent mechanic that has the SD3 and correct software for programing the new and old keys. Unfortunately I have no confidence in local dealers and central FL. really has no Ferrari support when it comes to maintenance. I am located near Cocoa Beach FL. Thanks for any suggestions. You'll probably get a better response in either the Florida or 430 sections

no easy or inexpensive way around it. I lost a key and had it replaced. I physically took the car to the dealer in Silicon Valley with car title in hand. If your car is financed or leased, the finance company or lessor will need to send/fax authorization to the dealer directly.

I am not sure why no confidence, but aside from the cost, it is pretty straight forward. - I mean they might forget to program one of them, but it is binary: they either work or they don't, no secret.

My mistake was that I didn't check BOTH keys, it turns out they had only programmed one key , the new one. The old key would unlock the car, but couldn't turn on the car with it. I took it back and it was done within an hour or so. So, just have the dealer do it. Good Luck.

You did nothing wrong, it was the Dealer mechanic incompetence that wasted your time and money. He job is to know that you must reprogram your old key when you do the new key. Shame on them! Thanks for your input.

Thanks...but really, it wasn't a big deal. My point was not to slam the dealer, but just to point out to double check the work as one would with any work. I am actually very pleased with my mechanics. :)
