The F355 cam with the diffuser angularity that was popular in F1 in the early 1990s.
More is known and understood about air flowing under a car these days.

I am no expert, but I think the underbody aero is more complicated than just slapping on a bigger diffuser. The ride height is critical, plus too much allows separation of the airflow and the whole thing quits working.

There 355 underbody was tested and works. I am sure it could all be reworked to be even more effective, but it would take the whole package and a lot of testing.

I have designed a set of aero advancements for the F355, including a couple of vortex generator at the front, a small lip down the central spine of the air channel, and a double diffuser for the rear. This was done under the guidelines of "Race Car Aerodynamics; Designing for Speed" By Joseph Katz.

I have not gotten around to building of testing these, yet.
