What is the widest size to replace the rears with. Currently have 285/35/19 and want a wider tire without replacing wheels.

I am using Bridgestone RE-11. I went up one size on the front with no problems. I kept the rear the factory size.

F430GT knows a lot about tires. Check some of the old threads.

    good timing...
I just received a message from the dealer that one of my rear tires has a nail in it and is losing pressure. Needs to be replaced.
    Pirelli.....$600 installed with taxes.
I might change both rears...waiting for his reply on the status of the other rear tire.

Don't mix stock front tires with a different tire model in the rear, that will compromise handling drastically.

Get a set of 4 RE-11 for the F430, 235/35R19 and 285/35R19 on the stock wheels. Massive increase in dry grip from everything that came available with the F430, and even better dry grip than Pirelli Corsa System, they are affordable tire too.

I'm still running my almost 2 years old rear RE-11 in the Scuderia, despite of track days, drag races, autocrosses and more than 6,000 miles. They last too long. My Cayman has them as well, and they just don't wear.

With same usage, I went through 5 sets of Toyo R888 in one year, and the Pireli Corsa System failed my controlled lap times tests at Cal Speedway and autocrosses.

If you want to fill in the wheel well, either buy new wheels (10" front 12.5" rear) and wider tires, or add a 15mm front and 20mm rear spacer.

Surprised, they're only rated at 180-A-A. I was looking at the RE050 since they are rated 280-AA-A.

I have 235/35/19 upfront and 295/30/19 rear RE50A on stock wheels and they look great especially with 15mm spacers all around. no issues at all and the car looks a 100% better with them.

The look is what I am really going for. May have to seriously consider the spacers, but want to fill the wheel well a little more. Please post a pic of the rear view.
    Thanks.

What is a RE-11 tire? If they last that long for your aggressive track driving, they should last along time my for road use.

I just did all 4 on my F430 coupe with Michellin Super Sport
295 30 ZR19's and 225 35 ZR 19's in front. These stick like race tires on the street. Amazing!

Can you confirm your sizes in MPSS please?

I don't think they make that front tire size...did you mean 235/35-19?

Would love to hear that they did start making the stock size...and we have to choose a non-standard rear in MPSS also, either 275/35 or 295/30 rather than the stock 285/35...

F430GT wrote a comparison of the MPSS vs. RE-11 in another thread for anyone who reads this and wants to get some feedback on MPSS vs. RE-11...IIRC his opinion was that these are the best two combo track day/street tires...with perhaps a slight advantage to the RE-11...

I just searched Michelin's web site and the tires that Ferrariblue quotes do exist but the rolling diameter is off by about 1 cm . Is that ok?

Interrested because I've been running Pzero Corsa and they are great when warm but heard the supersports were even better! Only care about grip, not wear.... any experience out there?

I have a pair of spacers and bolts that I purchased from Ricambi. The spacers are 11mm thick and the bolts are 11mm longer than stock. PM me if interested in buying.

From my earlier post, my Michellin Supersports are identical in size in the front, but the rear (295-30-19) is 0.8" shorter tire. They do not have a like for like match in size yet. I was concerned at first, but my Ferrari dealer put these on my car; they have done 12 F430's with these tires with no complaints. My other option was the PS2's. I wanted the new compound. These are great tires. The only thing you may notice is your speedometer may read 2% to 3% faster.

The rear ride height need to be adjusted 10mm up, or the front 10mm down, the alignment reset. I would use 235 instead of 225 MPSS, due to the excess understeer built into the F430.

Far much better tire than the obsolete and still good PS2.
