F430 Scud question, thx in advance!

Passenger side of front bonnet, has a cap over it. You can use a torx bit to turn it on and off. Make sure you have the radio code!

 

You were told to disconnect the battery; By whom? and for what reason?

CE lights should be investigated with an OBDII reader or SD2/3 not by blindly resetting the vehicle electrical system. It is true that this might fix specific issues but I recommend starting with the scientific method. We are here to help, so post the OBDII code(s) and lets work from there.

+100. You're throwing away valuable diagnostic information, especially, if it's an intermittent problem. On the 2008, I believe there is a switch near the rear of the front "bonnet". This is not present on the 2009.

 

I've done 1800 miles in the last two months and now the check engine shaped light is staying on but car feels fine..... 2009 scud with 4k miles.

is it go to dealer time? thanks

Get the OBD2 codes. You can borrow a reader from "most" autoparts stores for free. If you start your scud once before the "OK" light, you could have the CE forever until reset by OBD2 or SDx. It will ay misfire on cyl 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, just because you started a fraction of a second before you should have. I used to get this CE often as a impatient newbe. Now I just wait and never see it. Just an example, you issue could and is likely different. But do a bit of homework, it might feel good to learn a bit about your fabulous machine. Think of it as asking your significant other whats wrong when she has her CE light on.

No pic needed, it cant be missed. Its up under the dash, just beside the steering column on the right. Its not covered or anything, its black.
