    Guys.

Have a mini project revolving around the scuderia rear grille badge. Bought the badge from eurospares, had it customized and adding to the challenge grille but have absolutely no idea how to install it in a proper manner without it vibrating against the grille when the car is running. The badge comes just as a badge with two pins on the back and two hex bolts. Really tiny ones. I'm guessing it needs a backplate with two holes to secure it to the grille and some kind of rubber washer to absurd the vibration from the engine.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Thanks in advance!

    Is it a Scuderia 430 or a normal 430?
I ask this because I bought a badge from a guy in the UK who has made up a really neat looking 430 badge with the same size and font but instead of having Scuderia written underneath the numbers, it has the tri colours of the Italian flag.

Look great and I really love it.

This unit is simply stuck onto the black grille which in my case is the challenge grille.

Add me to the list of those that are interested in the custom 430 badge ... how much, and how do we find him?

Visit club scuderia forum and look under gallery under topic F430 Yum Yum. You'll find Jim. Trouble with his badges is that the heat delaminates the tri colour. I both the oem scuderia badge and had it custom painted over and hard lacquered to lock down the colours. Still at the paintshop. Will only know the results tmrw.

Thanks ... I'll wait and see if they still lift, before I buy.

If you do it my way, it will not lift as it's pure paint locked down by hard lacquer. It will withstand the heat from the mufflers through the challenge grille. Trouble is, as per my original question, how are these badges locked down in a scuderia! Can anybody help? Can't be just two bolts without a reinforcement plate.

Is hard lacquer something "special", or could we just put 3-4 coats of lacquer over the product?

Hard lacquer is different from clear coat. But if you only have clear coat, yes, couple of layers through will lock it down...paint i mean. Stickers, I am not so sure about that. I'll see how mine turns out later today.

Jason Donald is the man in the UK who has made them and they are top class.
Sure there has been a small issue with the colours suffering heat exposure but who cares after 12 months of temperatures I'd hate to even mention what it would be like in the engine bay.

I'd just buy another one and be done with it.

    His email is [email protected]

I love it on my car and like the other poster had mentioned...go to clubscuderia in the UK and the post is right YUM YUM and you'll see it there.

Have tested mine over the last week, 36degree weather, long drives, badge seems to be holding up well. The hard lacquer appears to successfully lock the custom paint job down. I'm happy with the results.

And oh yes back to the issue of installation. I put in a 1mm thick rubber insulation sheet in between the badge and the grille, and another behind the grille before I fasten the lock nuts with a powdercoated aluminium supporting bracket/plate. Looks neat, out of sight and most importantly when I peek through the rear view mirror, I do not see any nasty metal plates or rusty bolts at the grille.
