The first and second pics are of the same carbon fibre racing seats, the last pic if the standerd seats.

I don't see why more people don't order the CF race seats, it seems like every 430 I've seen has the standard or daytona seats. Same holds true with the 360. The race seats are so beautiful, and so much more in keeping with the spirit of a mid engined Ferrari.

Personally, I find them much more comfortable as well.

I absolutely agree with Riverflyer, I had Daytona's in my 360 and when i got my CS the race seats were way more comfortable....even on longer drives.

There's a lot of difference of opinion on this question. A good friend of mine sold his 360 Spider after a year because both he and his wife couldn't stand the sport seats. It wasn't a size issue, they are both slim, it was lumbar and shape. I've had two different dealers tell me they are emphatically a negative in the resale market - very limited appeal.

I'll second Gary's comment. I love the look of the sport seats--they would also be great at the track. But for both my wife and I, after about ten minutes of sitting in them, our backs start to hurt. Bums me out--but the unyielding fit may be a reason that more cars are not sold with them.

I would definately want the CF seats......they are so much more sporty, being lighter, CF, and more curvacious. they also look better, imo.

I think its mostly about what size you are. I find the CF seats in the CS much more comfortable than the regular seats in my old 360. My wife however disagrees. In particular because she shorter in the body than me. She finds the point where the seat changes angle uncomfortable.

You just need to see if they work for you first before buying them. I think the leather pattern on the new 430 CF seats is great as well.

I'd get the standard seats. I love the way they designed them whereby the stitching alternates and doesn't quite go all the way across.

How much are the CF seats? Not to buy them outright but to order them as an option?

FWIW, I have shell type seats in my Porsche and love them.

I had the large size sport seats in my '00 360 and they were perfect for me. Other than sore butt cheeks after a couple hours on the road, they were very supportive and comfy. My present CS has the large sport seats as well but they are even more comfy. The bottom cushion has been redesigned and feels a little sifter. I do think that Ferrari made these seats considerably more comfortable a few years ago and I wouldn't get any Ferrari without them.

i ordered my 01 spider w/ the racing seat and the next buyer... did wonder at first but loved them when he tried them.

the update seat Viken mentions in my CS's is the best seat i have ever had except perhaps the GT3 seat from porsche. both are much lighter than the chubster regular seats.

i would NEVER buy an F w/o them... but tdf is right that those who feel that way are a minority

Exactly -- I agree with my hero, Viken. :)

The new 430 sport seats are even better -- they are more like the Barchetta seats, which I acquired for my old 360. They were significantly more comfy than the standard 360 sport seats.

Jack, you don't have to answer this, but how much did those set you back?

No problem -- I purchased them used for $5k, which was a great price considering they cost something crazy like $7500 per seat from the factory after the fact. I sold them for a slight profit when I sold my car -- the buyer wanted my stock power Daytona seats.
