Anyone have an idea of how many F430 spider 3-pedal cars were allocated for U.S. market?
The percentage was a lot less than with the 360 model. Looks like some of the MT F430s are selling as high as the Scuderias. Go figure.
There have not been any final figures posted as far as I recall - total production is in the region of 10-12 000 430 with more than half Spider- maybe 30 % USA then no more than 20 % manual - so way fewer than 500 is my guess
Now, how could this topic be construed as "not model specific?" Thread moved to the appropriate subforum.
Only numbers I have are early ones for the UK market, where at one point there were 847 F1 Spiders vs 128 three pedal Spiders. That is around 13% and the coupe had similar numbers (731/129) for a slightly higher percentage. No telling if that mirrors US sales or not. In general on the sportier models, UK three pedal percentages have been higher than in the US.
The 458 is nearing the end of its production run with the Speciale, etc. IMO, Ferrari should end the the production with a 3-pedal model.... now that would be special!!
My gut feeling, I believe it's below 13% if you count worldwide. In hk we have hundreds of 360 & 430 out there we have 20 or 30 3-pedal car at most, coupe spider 360 430 inclusive, no official figures though
Total F430 production excluding Scuderia and 16M is about 18,500, about 53% are spiders and 28% of Ferrari production is average US allocation - of those 13% are manual cars (or less possibly in US). Approx. 360 US 6 speed manual F430 spiders give or take!
Seems to be quite a few F430 manuals around, but the spiders seems to be more F1. I could not find a manual I liked, so I ended up with a F1. Not a big fan. Prefer my manual 360.
I don't know about the entire US market, but our local dealer sold far less than 10% manuals. I personally know one guy who wanted a manual coupe when new but he was too late and he ended up with paddles. Ferrari treated paddles and sticks as separate models, so thee should be numbers somewhere. Interestingly, when I first signed up for a 430 in 2002, I was the 1st one on the list for a manual. They already had about 20 signed up ahead of me for paddle coupes plus about 60 for spiders. Since the dealer had no control over when a manual might be allocated, I was guaranteed the first manual which ended up being the 5th or 6th car overall. The guy who signed up for a manual after me waited another 2 years. Dave PS: I still have the car. It will be 9 next month.
so what do we need to start it? Anyone want to volunteer to run it? I would but I think it's beyond my skill level
