Hello, Just installed the Tubi GTC in the 430. I have read a lot of the comments and discussions in this forum. Let me tell you that there is a major difference in the sound of the car. The valves are eliminated and the tone at the low end is louder and deeper, the high end is just awesome. Also the quality of the system is wonderful, not cheap, but first rate. I was able to install without removing the bumper cover. I feel definitely worthwhile. The system looks and sounds great!! Hey David, Thanks for the post, two questions: 1) How long did it take you to swap the exhaust systems? 2) Is this for the mechanically timid or do you really need to know your way around the car? Frank
If I were to do this again I would have removed the wheels and inner fender skirts, that would have made the installation a lot easier. If you take you time and are moderately mechanically inclined I think you can do this. I went very slow, as to not damage the paint. It took about six hours all tolled, also you need to align the system front to back and center the tips in the bumper opening, another reason to leave the bumper cover on.
Do not know what the HP increase is, but when I feel the flow out of the exhaust vs stock, feels like much more free flow, the area of the tubes is over double.
Can you please post a sound clip?? How will the guys at Shelton feel about the change in exhaust and your factory warranty?
Good question, Shelton may not like, but I have talked to other dealers that have no problem. I think this issue is political not mechanical. In the end, I was going to do it no matter what, and I am totally satisfied with the result.
Looks great and will sound amazing I put the Tubi NGT on my 360 with Hyperflows and the sound was as you described it much lower and screams on the top end.
Nice work, it's nice to see you were willing to push the envelope with not leaving it stock. I personally feel the stock muffler on the 430 leaves quite a bit to be desired in the sound arena and I am very curious to hear a GTC on a 430. If ou could post a sound clip I would appreciate it.
Is the car F1 box? Do you get the throttle blip on the down change on the spider like you do on the coupe?
