Can anyone confirm that the OEM sport exhaust comes with a mounting bracket setup that allows for expansion contraction and thus permanently resolves the header/bracket stress crack issues?

Read through the OEM Sport Exhaust threads and they all seem to turn into aftermarket header cat exhaust discussions.

Are you talking about the original exhaust which came with the car or the latest ferrari Retro fit system ?

The Ferrari OEM sport exhaust, made by Tubi, will allow expansion. Each muffler has a suport bracket which allows the system to grow. There are no hard brackets.

This is true. I currently have the system on my F430 and will grab you a picture.

Thanks for the reply gentleman. I was considering the Capristo bracket setup, but think I'll go with the OEM sport exhaust setup, can acquire for just $2600 additional.

I love the F1 sound, but I also would enjoy having a conversation with my wife on the way to dinner. So I'm thinking I definitely need to keep a valved set up.

I'm not sure if the sport exhaust will prevent cracked headers, the "Summit Life" 430 had the sports exhaust and had a cracked header before they switched to the full Fabspeed system.

well you obviously also need to move the gearbox u clamps too, otherwise the exhaust cannot expand

Richard would you mind expanding on the U clamps procedure.

The procedure is to remove them. That's it, just a few bolts and then the exhaust can flex as needed. Some folks say removing them cures most of the issues as the muffler support then flexes and supports the system. Fabspeed makes a set that is stronger, and that is the opposite theory.

Have a look on the Capristo site in Germany, they have a diagram of the 430 brackets fitted and which ones to remove if you fit their system

FDP....good luck. Everyone has a different opinion on what to do.
You need to perform your due diligence and decide for yourself. Myself, a Nuclear Physicist, I looked at the property of metals as they relate to expansion and contraction. Made my decision accordingly. Bottom line, exhaust systems need to have the ability to expand when heated. Anything preventing that will eventually result in component failure due to the thermal stresses.
