    Hello Everyone,

As I am looking at the options for the F430. I have been thinking about sport seats vs. regular seats.

    What are all your opinions?

    Please post any pictures.

Those of you that either have driven or have sport seats in your car. I would be curious to hear your thoughts.

    Thank you.

I had the sport seats in my 360 and I really liked them for spirited driving. However, in my f430 I have the regular electric seats and find them much more comfortable on longer trips. Also if you are going to sell the car with sport seats you need to find someone that will fit in them properly as there is NO give.

I have the racing seats in my Stradale. They are superb for the track, but they are not particularly comfortable on long journeys, and they do not tilt forward like standard seats, so accessing the space behind them for storage is exceptionally awkward. The standard seats are more comfortable and are better for resale.

I have sport seats and yes they are not as comfortable on long runs but I find them accetable.
Adjustment is limited to forwards and backwards and the angle of the back.
They are very snug and hold you well when driving but can make getting in and out a bit of a job.
As noted above for resale larger people might find them a turn off.
Overall I like them and have many comments about how good they look.

I love the sport seats..........I find them "very" comfortable for long trips.

The constant engine noise is more of a bother to me on long trips than the seating.

I guess it depends on how your body in constructed as well, because they have no signficant cushioning at all......you either love them or hate them......and Ifind at resale time it's no issue. I am a used car dealer FWIW.....

The Sport seats are excellent, except for re-sell.

When my 360 was for sale 14 months ago, a fellow chatter was having trouble selling his 360 with sport seats.

One thing i have noticed about the sport seat is that the driver sits lower compared to the regular electric seats.
when i was sitting in the test drive car with regular seats, i felt i was sitting too high over the steering wheel. I am 5ft 10 tall. I am wondering if drivers over 6 feet would feel uncomfortable at the wheel with regular seats.

Its interesting that it affects the resale value.
In Singapore, the original racing seats go at a real premium. The price for the Ferrari seats are US$13,000/pair compared to US$4500 in the States.

My previous Testarossa and 355 had racing seats, no problems selling them at all.

Nearly bought Sport seats for my 430. Sat in the large and it pinched me on the thigh muscles/bones. I'm a 35 waist. Rather buy std seats (even more comfortable and supportive than 360)with recline, no electric and buy a pair of custom fitted Recaro/Corbeau etc race seats with extended helmet protector wings which can easily be swopped over for track days. Safer and even more supportive of Ferrari sport seat

You obviously need to get out and do some running being now 35" inch waist mediums in my Strad are extremely comfortable ( ex 38 inch waist here ) but I would shoot for Large just in case

You wouldn't have standard seats in an Enzo or other high performance non GT Ferrari so why in a 430 ? The sport seats are extremely comfortable for me. They do the job expected of a seat in a car like a 430. Plus they look dynamite doing it. Forget what other people may or may not want in the after-market, buy the car for YOU to enjoy. There are plenty of people that want sport seats so don't go with the cushy seat just because someone says the racing seats are less strong in the after-market, that's crud. Don't buy your car to specs of the next owner. Just get the large. Plus they save 18kg a piece & they put your weight lower in the car. And they're beautiful carbon fiber. If you're getting standard brakes then the racing seats aren't 100% necessary but if you're going w/ CCM's they're a must. But the only way to know for sure is to try them out. Good luck.
