Help please , my f430 stalls in 1st and reverse , some times I can get the car moving and the clutch works (not slipping) then all of a sudden I can’t select reverse or first again , if I switch of the car for a minute or do it starts and I can then select the gear again , I’ve ordered a new clutch and removed the old one but on inspection it looks ok , can anybody shed any light on the problem please

    Guessing yours is an F1.

before even touching the spanner’s you should have attempted a gearbox relearn and carried out a rebleed of the actuator itself. There’s plenty of cheap ish diagnostic tools on the market which can do these functions. 9/10 times this sorts these random issues. Should have also checked your clutch % wear

worse case it is I’ll be the actuator unit. Which can be rebuilt.

Yes it’s the F1, I checked the clutch wear and it said it had worn 86% that’s why I removed it but looking at the photos it doesn’t look bad. I’ve also purchased a launch x431 pro mini. Does the clutch look worn out to you .

If it’s 86% then you’ll start having random issues with gear select/gear unavailable etc.
To get the most out of the clutch you can adjust the PIS setting. You’re not that far off of the rivets, so id say put your fresh clutch in, set your PIS, do a gear relearn and bleed the system and you’re good to go.

A new clutch is 6.1 mm , the plate in the pic is 5.5mm would 0.5 mm be the difference from new to fully warn clutch

Sounds like your PIS may be too tight. I would start by opening it up a bit and see if it improves.

New clutch fitted, took the car for a drive, clutch seems to work fine , changed from 1st/2/nd then would go into Netral or 6th then changing down from 4th to 3rd it would hit netral or 6th . Very random gear selections , have done a clutch relearn and also a clutch bleed .
