My new Fabspeed fabricated and installed ..... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Was your car tuned for 93 octane fuel or race fuel, those numbers look good even with the stock muffler. Is it still using the valves? I'm thinking about a similar setup for my Scuderia. How did you get rid off the CEL (Check Engine Light)? Thanks
Hey that looks really interesting. Love the design of the setup! About CEL, my 430 runs the fabspeed headers, test pipes and capristo twin sound. No CEL so far. I drove it hard for over 45 minutes today and still no CEL. Maybe I'm lucky? Fingers crossed still.
93 octane here ....yes valves are still plugged in , no cel light ....sound is intoxicating ! also saved 16,17 lbs losing the muffler
I had my fabspeed sport cat installed, I did get CEL, but my dealer told me if you drive the car hard, the ECU will not really work on the emission thing, you will get CEL if you drive the car so gentlely, give it a try.
Not realy , if the o2 sensors are installed correctly the ecu should act as if everything is normal ( sport cats that is ....
Drove the 430 on Fabspeed headers and test pipes around the entire day yesterday and still no CEL. Guess I mush be lucky,
That's somehow right what your dealer said but... The reason why is when you drive the car hard, the ECU will go in "open loop" mode. That means that the lambda values are not checked and it is accepted that the car pollutes more under full load (usually above 25% trottle). Although, in normal driving or idling when the engine is warm, the ECU will go into "closed loop" mode. Closed loop lambda control uses the Lambda sensor to check the exhaust o2 content and then changes the fuel maps accordingly. You'll get a CEL only if in closed loop, the lambda thresholds are overpassed. The thing is that practically speaking, it's impossible to drive a car all the temp at full load, so if there is an emission issue with the fabspeed cat, sorry, but you'll get the CEL anyway.
Anyone tried the Cargraphic exhaust solutions for F430? I found this product quite interesting for the following reasons : - They provide a real heatshield around the muffler. The heatshield logo can be customised with your own logo - Heatshields are also available to protect the vacuum actuated exhaust valves - They integrate their own exhaust brackets using a silent block based suspension - With or without exhaust valves - X tailpipes - Remote control for manual control of the exhaust flap system - OBD2 compliant 200 cells cats are also available (large diameter) http://www.cargraphic.de/index.php?/s,6,7,9,222,2334,2335/ There is a small mp3 sound sample on the bottom right link. I don't know if cargraphic's products are exported to the US though. Thanks in advance for your opinions Image Unavailable, Please Login
So what exactly do you mean by installed the O2 sensors correctly? I even have two brand new O2 sensors (after CAT) installed, However I still get the CEL. Dealer told me that the sensor might get damaged. Original I had 2 extensions installed on the sport Cats, but I still get my CEL, because the the reading say the sensors were not picking up signal so I had them removed. So please keep us posted if you still don't get the CEL
call fab speed theyl be able to help ya out on losing the cel .... otherwise you now have more exhaust pressure from the sport cats could be throwing off ecu
