When a battery is swapped out - does the TCU have to be re-programmed back to factory settings? I noticed my car is shifting differently than it did prior to the battery change and seems the computer settings are not the same anymore. It's not bad, just different. But I prefer the performance I had before the electrical system was turned off.

Michael- Changing the battery should not have any affect on the programming in your F430 F1 ECU/TCU, which uses a EEPROM to hold the algorithms and maps. Low batteries or bad connections or grounds can affect shifting, but not because the TCU programming was affected.
