I seem to be getting a rattle that sounds like timing gear, between 2500 and 3250 RPM. I can only hear it when the roof is down and the noise disappears above 3500 RPM. I'm hoping I'm wrong about the source of the rattle. Has anyone else experienced similar?

    Car only has 11000 miles..

Quite rare if it is the chain. More likely candidate is the AC compressor bearing (very common) or the belt tensioner bearing. Either way, I'd get it checked out pronto..

Rustybits what is chain driven? Or is that the sound description?
