I have searched but haven’t found any recent threads about this. Has anyone here went from a F430 to a 488? Been debating this for myself but was curious what other owners who have made the switch thought looking back.

Love the mechanical feel and look of the F430 but the 488 may get used more due to my current garage. Just moved from a four car garage to a three car so it’s playing jenga to get any of the fun cars out. Due to this they don’t get used as much. Was looking at consolidating it to one in a 488 or 720. However believe my wife will not like driving the 720 and not sure how I will feel not having a Ferrari in the garage.

I went from F430 to 458 to 488 to F8.... So I kinda did what you're asked but I'm not sure what you're asking for. They are very very different cars. Might as well be different brands. Other than the Scuderia shields on the fenders, I can't think of any other similarities. Both are great cars though. But nothing alike.

I have owned a F430 (with a full Capristo exhaust system) for over 6 years. Got to experience a 488 for 4+ days last fall and was bored. It felt more like my daily vs. an event. Is it more drivable? 100% But it was a stock 488. Aggressive exhaust on a 488 may have changed my mind! Both are amazing cars, very different though. Definitely get some seat time before you make the decision. If modern speed is what you are looking for, you will not be disappointed with the 488.

I’m about to do the opposite. Going from an F8 to a 430 Scud. Found the F8 a bit too clinical. Phenomenal car in many many ways but IMO simply missing something for me.

What’s missing is any kind of exhaust note . My spider sounds like a Dyson. I can’t believe there isn’t an easy fix that will work without losing my warranty.

I have 250 sport cats and a novitec inconel exhaust and it’s whatever. Everything else about that car is phenomenal but the sound is sub par.

Thanks for the feedback gentlemen or women. This was slightly my concern about loosing that mechanical raw feeling that the 430 gives. Will really need to some seat time in one before I make that decision. I was impressed with the 720 I drove however it was a bit devoid in the sound department. Not really looking for I it right speed I have an electric car for that.

Try a 720S Spider. Top down, or rear window open, and you get to enjoy more of the sound it’s making. I really like the performance of my 488, but driving the 720S is a notch above.

Like the 550, the 488 NEEDS an exhaust in order to fully enjoy the car
