Hi Guys, I've been having this discussion with my friends but no results. I'm ready to get a second Ferrari to add to my one car stable (355 spider). The question is that one of my friends has a black 360 CS with 4350 miles (7000km) but for the price he's asking I can get a F430 with a little extra money and in the specs and color combos that I want. I love both cars but really can't make up my mind and no one around me is helping out either. Any opinions from CS and F430 owners? Thanks everyone, From the Dustbowl they call Q8, Salman
F430.... you'll be instance hero on the road, at car gathering, or events. But the 360CS, you'll be one of them... ( not to mention anything else...)
an instant hero for maybe 6 months..however if u can get a F430 at sticker, flip it, and buy the CS as well, then keep the CS, it is a special car, u can always get a 430 later...the 360 is done with production, and is so unique, and in black! ahhh!
As a novelty vehicle, get the CS. Limited in production, cool mirrors on the sides that sceams "Hey, I'm special" and UNBELIEVABLE brakes. The F430 would be my choice for HP alone. New and Fresh, all you would need is a red cape and an "s" on your chest to get more attention. Happy hunting.
A simple way to put this thread into perspective is to read page 40 of the June issue of Car & Driver! THAT explains the attitude that "it's still just a Ford".
wats "a little more money"? If you can get your hands on a F430 at list price, I say go for the 430 instead of CS. I am saying that as CS owner.
or trade your 355 for $115k take the $225k for the F430 and get an F50 and remain a dedicated one car man!
in a few years there will likely be about 15-20,000 F430s all over the place. they only made about 1250 challenge stradales. a very special car.
When you go to Ferrari events, the place is usually swarming with 355's and 360's(not CS's). Soon it will be with the F430. F430 will be a 'common; Ferrari(especially after its successor comes out). I have heard that the F430 delivers the drive of ann enzo, it might be a bit faster than than the CS- but not much. The CS is a unqiue car, I would stick with it.
The CS is a bit more special, but then again there will more than likely be a 430CS to close out the series production before long. I guess you have the 355 for your daily use, if need to, already since you said you are ready to ADD to your barn. I'd go for the CS, and it's black! Especially, if you can live with the rawness of the CS.
what a horrible position to be in, lucky ****ard! Unless you intend to track alot, take the F430, which I beleive I am right in saying is faster?
Today the 430 is in fashion because it is new but 2 years from now the car will be produced in thousands of examples. The cs will remain the cs with only 1200pzs made. It also depends if you really like driving the car- the cs is about as good as it gets without forking out several hundred thousands more for an Enzo or a CLk Dtm or a Mc12.
don't make fun of the clk dtm- i was on the track last week in Imola racing and there was one there and believe me this car deserves respect
Stop comparing the incomparable. What do you want the car for? To drive on the open road? If so take the 430: torquey, comfortable, relatively quiet nicely sprung etc To drive on a track: the CS will put a smile on your face like no other car. It is as close as you can get to a road going racing car. It is unique. Having driven 2 430s on track (one normal and one race prepared) it is worth noting that there is a real suspension set up problem as both cars bottom out all the time. on the race prepared one we were able to correct this after much modification to camber suspension settings rollbars etc - but it is quite unpleasant. The engine is really a tiger though - the extra torque and punch are impressive. Re the CLK DTM: did 3 laps round Dijon in one: almost 600 bhp and 80 mkg of torque but 1700 kgs - thank goodness for modern electronics!
i would go for the f430. you get the options you want, plus its faster and more powerful. however, you would have to wait for the f430, but the CS would be right away. tough call.
On a smooth racetrack? Sounds very strange. Why would it bottom on a smooth road? Or is this a track that has big bumps? More info, please. Gary
i agree with many others....f430 will be common soon enough but the CS will be rare.... BUT if you go to the track less than every other month or so....just get the f430.....
