It seems they are the same exact width and offset as the 360 wheel so they would need the exact same milling. The design of the central hub and it's thickness compared to the 360 would be the key.

We all know it has been done hundreds of times with 360 wheels and they have been ran for many years with no issues.

We know it has been done more then once with 430 and no problems yet?

I'd like to see a comparison of the two stock hubs for thickness between the lug seat and the rear face of the rims.

You should be able to tell by pulling one of the wheel bolts. The space between the shank and thread will probably signify thickness of hub.

I just recently test fitted some aftermarket 360 wheels on my car and the offset was way too low to accommodate. Obviously, aftermarket wheels have a much more aggressive fit than OEM.

I understand its been done and my guess is you are beyond the engineering specs. Having said that its your car and you can do what you want.

On another note they look really nice.

I've never milled any wheels on any of my cars. I was just saying its been done...A LOT.
Especially on 360 rims and we have never heard of any problems arising. Wether they were engineered for it or not I'd say we are pretty close to proff of concept on it.

I was saying I would like to know if there was a hub thickness difference between 360 that have been done and the 430 that has been done much less. Maybe you are left with less thickness than 360... Maybe not good. Maybe you are let with more material than a 360 wheel. Maybe that would be assumed good. But it's all a maybe.

i guess Ferrari builds their wheels too thick and we can all mill them to make them lighter. I would not advise it but others have done it so its ok and proven.

I ve spoken at length to my Ferrari engineer in Sydney ex Marenello 30 years experience. He feels 10 mm would not weaken the wheel. But is it enough ?

I've heard that later model 355 's had a different slightly deeper rear wheel arch than earlier models even though the rear wheels remained the same size. Maybe if this is true it maybe why some owners can fit 430 (and 360 ) wheels more easily ? Anyone have any information ?

I never took an accurate measurement but mine seems the same as all others and its a 99.

Judging by part numbers its also the same. I think that statement is false.

I thought you meant outside not inside.

    You are partly correct.

However it is not the later cars. The earlier cars from parts numbers shows an optional inner wheel size that is 30 mm wider. If ordered that way or until their stock ran out.

By the part numbers later cars all had 350mm insted of the optional 380 mm and yes that would help.

I really like the design of the 430 wheels George. I've been told they will fit if I mill 12 mm
off the rear wheels . I've had them sitting in the garage for 12 months thinking about it !
By the way did you read the Ferrari life article about the composition of the wheels ?

I have them, but the car came with them, so I don't have the specs. I can say I've run them about 2 years without a problem, until recently. I was on a military base (the Ferrari club trip to Vandenberg AFB). In two days I went over about 2,000 (well, maybe not that many) speed bumps (probably to fast) and my front tires pulled down both front fender lips. I had the fenders rerolled tighter, bringing them further in, for more tire room. Looks the same, and hopefully that will solve the problem. We will see: Image Unavailable, Please Login , and hopefully that will fix the problem. If you were local, you could measure my wheels:
