    Thanks mate.

Ok, here goes. Where I live, an 06 430 coupe would cost USD$340,000 based on FX 1.24. An 06 430 Spider would be in the range of USD$387,000 to USD$395,000 depending on condition. An 08 Scud now runs for approximately USD$540,000 based on the same FX.

So I hope this clears things up. Yes, the price of a miserable 430 coupe buys a Scud and a few other track cars over at the States.

So seeing the difference between the price of a coupe and a Scud, does it now make sense for me to build my own Scud, even though I will not have the same chasis or the same superfast F1 transmission? All I know is I'm having the time of my life modifying a Ferrari. Tell me how many lucky souls out there other than us on the forum can experience that?

Wow! I new it was going to be a lot but didn't think over half a mil! You could get a GTO for the price of a scud and still have some change left over for that sweet 599XX aero.

    Scuderia carbon ceramic brake system....

My other half is completely against it as it equates to almost another Birkin, yet I'm using it for stomping fun.

Should I? It's really not that expensive an upgrade.

Well that would be an excellent upgrade to carry out. I'm not sure of the technical aspects, there may be issues around upgrade of brake servo and ecu (for monitoring the heat cycles) and perhaps it would upset the e-diff and require further ecu update / programming?

Personally I think I'd probably be more inclined towards a big brake kit. I suspect that you'd achieve a similarly stunning visual effect and a dramatic improvement in brake efficiency at perhaps a third of the price.

    Either would be good! :)

True mate. However, Brembos aren't that cheap either. The fronts and backs 6 pots on all four corners with cross driled 380mm discs would add up to USD$12k without delivery? That's 2K short of a set of scuderia carbon ceramics. So I guess I'm still on the right track...I hope.

Dare I say after this I'll stop? Hmm....plexi glass engine cover sounds nice.

Oh! I had the impression the CCB kit would be more like $30k+

    My Bad!

Or are you looking at a used set perhaps?

Certainly the CCBs are the dogs ******** and if technically possible and only marginal price difference they must be the way to go!

I have a good offer and yes to 30k if from factory.

Looks like I'm in for the ccb. Life is short. Enjoy now, experience the chompers biting on the carbon discs first then worry later. I've heard so much good things about the scuderia brakes. Besides I don't track so the discs will probably last forever, I hope.

Problem is, I've got a pile high of parts waiting to be installed. Just no time to begin the project. All I do is buy more parts to fill the parts bin. But I'm sure when all the parts go on, it'll be a fun ride.

Pulled the trigger on the scuderia carbon brakes!

Carbon factory mirrors arrived. Didn't expect this but it came with motors fitted so there's no need to transfer from old to new. Wow!

Wise words Russ. I'm trying to tell myself that.

I've still got the extinguisher on route. It's black so I might have it sprayed painted red before filling her up with dry chem compound.

This sure is fun...oh yes, and the carbon fuel lid you suggested too.

Time to let fly with the spanners my friend! :D

Ok. Now you should be ashamed of yourself! I spotted a grease stain on the mandrel bent polished extractor. Now go clean it off.

Mine's nowhere near half the severity of your condition. Better show this to my partner so she can learn to be more appreciative of my tidiness.

    In the parts bin...for now...

Scuderia carbon intake plenum. For some strange reason it arrived in matt carbon finish. I'll have it lacquered. But strange to me coz I always thought the intake plenums in Scuderias were glossy carbon?

    Thanks again Russ!

Scuderia expansion tank cover...bemished but I'll attempt to restore the glossy finish with some good old chemical wash and a new coat of lacquer.

Factory carbon fibre mirrors. Came with motors intact so I guess it was worth the price.

Saves me the trouble of transferring the motor and mirror.

Last carbon porn for the day. Factory carbon fibre center console. Unlike the Scud console, this gives me compartments to stash some of my usual junk.

I loooveeeee all those carbon parts...

I wonder how difficult it would be to use the 430 scuderia intake plenum on a 360 engine??
