f430b door lock stuck in open position ..door will not close. anyone know how to release the locking mechanism without removing door panel ? Any input will help..
I sometimes get that on my 360, if I flick the small lock flap it usually fixes it. At least temporary.
You are very lucky this happend with the door open. Best at this point to replace the latch assembly with the updated one. Or at minimum pull the panel and figure out what's happening inside there, before it becomes an expensive time consuming problem.
Sounds like your cable froze up and won't return to the correct position. I had this happen to mine. Water can drip down inside the door and corrode the cable causing it to "stick" as tbakowsky said, best to replace the latch assembly. Here is the word document I did that describes how I fixed it.
