I've been asking if glowing red hot spot around the o2 sensor area is normal. I've been given answers and they all pointed out that it is NOT normal.

since then i've been driving 4x F430s with the same "spirit", see below video with footnote

It amazed me that all 4x F430s have glowing red cat after this kind of drive. None of these f430s have a "slow down" error. Meaning that if you don't open the engine lid and see it in the dark, you won't even know that it has a glowing red cat.

I am starting to believe that this is normal if you drive like I did in the video.

    What's your thought?

Cat overheat warning comes on around mid 900's degrees C, metal glows red hot quite a bit below this temp starting around 5-600, so yes according to the factory engineers this could be considered normal.

would you be able to identify any source as where this is coming from? A ferrari engineer? or some bulletin?
