F456 (non-M) window ecu #153096

One of the window ecu's on my 456GT suddenly stopped working a few months ago. This is very annoying as the car is basically out of order now. Seems to be a common problem.

By eliminating options and comparing both ecu's, I have unfortunately traced to problem back to the Motorola processor on the print. This is also beyond the capabilities of the party who advertise a repair service on ebay, who returned my unit as irreparable.

With nothing to lose, I have started a project together with a local ecu wizard to extract the factory 'one time only' sorftware from the EPROM in the processor and try to get that programmed into new, blank, processors which, fortunately, are still available. This looks promising and I will report back if we succeed.

Meanwhile this project has required some investments in tooling that I would like to share with others who suffer from the same problem. Is there anyone out there willing to have his 'irreparable' unit fixed? No hard prices available yet, but expect between 500 and 700 euro, and no cure no pay (except shipping cost).
