I have F40 front brakes and was thinking of adding F50 front and moving the F40 to the rear. Has anybody done this conversion?

Why not get the F355 Challenge set up ? I believe they are the same as the F40 LM's .

That's what I had on my 355. I sold to JSL on this board. Maybe he can take pics.

    Bob,

I was one of the very first 355 customers to order the F40/F50 Brembo kit from Race Technolgies for my 1995 F355. It's a great kit and will do wonders for your Ferrari. My 355 street car was mainly used for track events and the Brembo kit was a huge improvement over the stock set up.

FYI: the Challenge brakes cost around 10K from FNA and are not worth the extra investment unless you are racing or tracking the car fairly hard.

The Brembo kit was somewhere around halfway between the stock 355 set up and the brakes on my 355 Challenge.

The main advantage of the Challenge brakes is no fade after long sessions on the track (45 minutes or more). However, you will never get enough heat in the brakes to use them on the street. I used to have to drag the brake pedal for two laps to get them to work. On cold days we'd tape up the brake ducts to increase heat.

Also the Challenge brakes need to be bled at least once per day at the track whereas the F40/F50 kit can go a couple of weekends before needing a good bleed or flush.

    Regards,

    Jon P. Kofod

We remember Heiko's (HGParts) 355 GTS fitted with F40/F50 brakes.
But I think the car is sold now.
