Not too often you get people ignoring a RUF turbo...one way to do it is to park a F50 next to it, haha. I was lucky enough to see 2 F50 (red and yellow) and an F40 in the Ferrari of Washington showroom once. I'd never seen an F50 before, and there were 2, wow. (also a 330GTC getting ready for resto and a 246 Dino...all kinds of goodies). And yes the 4th 'pedal' is just a footrest.
I think some are saying it's not an actual RUF RTurbo is because this particualr car is based on the Turbo (wide) body, whereas some RTurbos (with RUF VIN, I believe) are based on the 996 narrow body. The main difference is that the air duct is on top of the rear wheel arch rather than being in front. Reason for this is that the narrow body is lighter than the wide. Now that doesn't make RufMD's car less attractive to me. Porsche class and subtle styling with supercar-duster performance. Amazing car. I'm not quite sure I'd pick an F50 over an RTurbo.
Zorro: There are two body styles of the Ruf Turbo, the first style in the magazines was the narrow body with the intake over the rear fender. They started making one based on the stock turbo body after that. If you want top speed you'd get the narrow body, if you want it for the track you'd get a widebody. Ruf cars are subtle and you don't notice how nicely they are done till you see them in person, saw an RGT of a fellow PCA member a couple years back, VERY hot car!
