I'll take mine in silver!!!! Outside of the list i would take an Enzo and then a porsche carerra GT and a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO and and and and................... basically a huge garage.............."tiny house"
F1 LM *ring* The F50 GT was never raced, but here's a race winning F50 for you... Importing an F50: A TragiComedy in Two Acts Importing an F50: Part II Ferraris and Cans of Coke Greg A
Isn't the F1 LM a race car only, or is it street legal? Assuming all of the cars are NOT street legal, I would want the FXX as a track car. Heck, it's the latest and greatest out of Maranello, and it's got over 800bhp..........what more needs to be said?
The FXX has 800 BHP naturally aspirated and is as bone stock from the factory as was the F1 LM. Doesn't sound like struggling to me.
Hi Erik, he actually paid about 4 million for Frank Seldorff's LM. Even at that I think it was a good investment. An interesting note is that the LM makes more horsepower than the LeMans cars because they were restricted to meet the rules. By the way, for the rest of you FChat members, Erik probably knows more about the the current status of Mclaren F1's, owners, etc. than anyone else. A lot of knowledge there.
well, let's see. It took Ferrari more than 10 years from the time the LM was made. Struggling is an understatement.
LM only car out of these that proved itself (and how!!) and is street legal GT second and then (by rather far) FXX
So on a 100 point scale 100pts F1 LM 73pts f50GT 35pts FXX I also don't understand the FXX. It seems more like a point and shoot car than anything. Are they trying to break a speed record? lol
F1 for me as well. The FXX is a completetly stupid car. It doesnt look as good as the Enzo and you cant use it on the road. Most people would have more fun and be just as quick on a track in a Radical SR3, Ariel Atom or Caterham R500 which would cost a fraction of the price.
WOW! Thanks for the info. As I mentioned in my email, that's really an incredible price even for the LM. Thanks - I'm flattered. >8^) ER
F50 Gt most definitley, but one seat is a downside. A plus for The Mclaren is that it is street legal. But the F50 still comes out on top.
If that is the case, then this is not a fair comparison. On the track though, the FXX would blow the other two out of the water.
Well, it's kind of hard to judge how well the FXX would do on the track since there hasn't been any track times afaik. Since the FXX can only be used on the track, I'd rather have a Ferrari F1 car for the track and an F1 LM for the streets.
Well, let's come up with some numbers to start; power-to-weight ratio. Now the FXX has at least 800bhp, and I am guessing weight will be just under 3,000lbs, so each horsepower is responsible for moving about 3.75lbs. Does anyone have the weight and horsepower numbers for the other 2 cars? And the exact weight and power of the FXX?
F1 LM weighs about 2,330 lbs and has 680hp. 3.42 lbs per horsepower. Keep in mind again this car is street legal!
...and you can take two friends with you. Oh, and you aren't a slave to Ferrari at your own expense. >8^) ER
Quote / On the track though, the FXX would blow the other two out of the water. On the track ? The F-50 GT and the FXX have never won and will never win anything... The McLaren F1 have won the 24hours of Le Mans race... And many other races. And the car wasn't - at first - intended to be raced ! FXX will do it, maybe... But it's just a test mule. For some future F1 V8 parts I guess and for the F-60. Please, bear this in mind : the F1 was made in ...1995. Ten years ago !!! No doubt about it, the F1 obliterates all competition.
