How fast is the semi-auto shift? Is there a clutch? Any info on it?

It doesn't have semi auto... It has sequential.

    Yes, there is a clutch.

    Search!

Did you mean F50 GT1 or something else entirely?

I did do a search for F50 GT1, there are countless threads about it, most of them more useless that this one.

I asked about the clutch because one of the threads had a string of posts claiming that there was no clutch. If you would so kindly point me in the direction of the threads that answer my question, I would be infinitely grateful. Thank you for your response.

I'm assuming when you say "clutch" that you mean "clutch pedal," yes? Here's the best picture I have of that area, but unfortunately this person's legs are in the way: http://img447.imageshack.us/img447/6940/j7re.jpg

That shot was posted here when #003 was in Australia. I think you should PM 360C because I think he might know more about it when it was at Maranello Motorsport.

I ran that car for the owner while it was in Australia. F chatter 360C is a vault of history and information, and if you want technical stuff answered, I'll do my best.

Cool! So when you say: "there is a clutch," you mean the pedal, right? This is a dogmission? Would you say the gears are very loud being straight cut?

F50 GT1 is std race car technology (Dallara (who built the cars) F3/3000 suspension technology). Conventional clutch operation and dog mesh custom made gearbox internals.
Engine and exhaust noise drowns out the gear noise.

001 is made by Scuderia Ferrari (between the F1-cars)
    002 and 003 by Dallara.

    Ok, I didn't know that.

Is 001 different technically to 002 and 003?

In particular, the suspension anti roll system is the Dallara preloaded belleville washer system etc etc

Yes, I meant clutch pedal. Or manually operated clutch as opposed to a computer controlled system such as in an F1 transmission. Thanks for the pic and information! Got anymore "different" pics of the GT1? What a car! I'm going to go watch the video with the 355 chasing it and the F40 now...

^Nice pic! Doesn't look like 003. Do you know which chassis it is?

Also, I searched through some old F50 GT threads and one of them said #001's first crash required a new tub. This was also the reason why spares were made by Dallara. So are all 3 F50 GTs using Dallara tubs now?

Yes technical is 001 different then 002 and 003
Some technical components are more F1 (s/n 001)
Outside they look all the same.
