Does anyone have specific information on how the F50 lease was set up and what the terms and buyout was at the end? Does anyone know whether there was a mileage limit or how many owners ended up buying out at the end?

    according to this site:
    http://www.web-cars.com/f50/
But to add to that, IIRC, you had to own 2 Fcars and one of them must have been purchased new. All of this was to prevent the instant-flip-gouging of the F50 due to the experiences that the market experienced when the F40 debuted. When the F40 was released into the market, the 395K pricetag soon soared up to 1.15 million. That was the most I remember coming across.

    240,000 down
    $5,500 for 24 months
at the end 150,000 will put your name on the title
i do not think there's a limit on miles because this article says the owner put 1,500 on the car in 3 months...

As is often the case with Ferrari there are exceptions to every rule. The serial number 3 model F50 was purchased when new by an American with the assistance of the Factory. There may also have been others who also got around the 'you must lease the F50 first' rule.

is this lease ferrari has with "owners" applicable to all ferrari's or the limited edition ones like the f50/enzo/etc? came across the web-cars site mentioned above http://money.howstuffworks.com/enzo.htm/printable had some information too.

interesting you note it's only leased to "responsible" people. first time i heard about this lease i thought it was a riduculous how you can't actaully own one. who actaully pays so much to borrow a car? and if it's for the purpose of preventing them from being trashed or abused how would you explain the behaviour of these so called "responsible" drivers which were "leased" f50's/enzo's/whatever (see: http://www.wreckedexotics.com/f50/ or http://www.wreckedexotics.com/enzo/ like the name suggests it's a site with wrecked exotic cars in almost every make/model including ferrari's - 1/4 billion worth of them).

so what does ferrari do with "owners" who total their "leased cars"? do their fine them/chuck them in jail? i mean what can they do anway?
