What do you believe will be the effect of the new F599 on 550/575 pricing, including time frame?

    Thank you for your opinions!

I have opinions on everything, so here goes:

The 550 and 575 will continue their linear depreciation independent of the 599 production. Where the 550/575 depreciation bottoms is subject for many past and future threads. Sure, there will be a few people on the 599 list that will trade-in their 550/575 over the next 3 years, but it is not a significant force on the supply and demand relationship. Most of us who own 550 and 575 today are not our Ferrari dealer’s perpetual customer lists and will not be rushing to trade our $100-175K cars in on a $250-350K car flipped by someone who is on the list.

Technically the 599 is a much different animal, so this one is tough to predict (as if it is ever easy!) I also suspect a GTS model with retractable roof is on the horizon. Why else for that ungainly rear? When it appears, it will be THE hot setup, probably look better too. According to our local Fcar store owner, he thinks the 360 killed 550 prices. The 360's advanced technology and exotic looks combined with size and comfort formally found only in the GT cars made the 550 almost seem old tech and boring to many buyers. The 599 ups the tech ante, although it is not likely to be as exotic as the 430 which is also quite comfortable to drive. I'll go out on a limb and say the 550/575 prices are not hurt by the 599, but it will be difficult to prove since prices would probably continue downward anyway.

I firmly believe the Corvette-derivative styling of the 599 will cause a rise and higher plateau in Maranello prices.

1-It looks NOTHING like a Corvette....
2-550/575 prices will go down, then level off....in time they will go back up.

Sorry to say.... Looks a lot like a corvette from some angles.

The more I look at it there are some angles that look OK but the rea is just horrible. But I will assume it looks better in person (all evidence to the contrary with the 612).

It looks precisely like a C6 Z06, in several major elements: Corvette fender lines, roof/rear window (inartfully 'disguised' by ridiculous, pointless flying buttresses), tack-on rear fender ducts, cartoonish front fender vents, and vulgarly rendered hood bulge/treatment.

It's a brilliant Vette (tone down the bulge), but a very, very misguided Ferrari.
