could be the next corvette. :)
Without words! Congratulations to the Centro Stile! Compasso d'Oro more than deserved by Flavio Manzoni and his staff.
Wasn't there supposed to be a version of the F12 with KERS? Also, Ferrari renders always look bad for some reason. Same with Speciale, it ended up looking stunning in actual pictures.
I am finding it all a bit fussy and over detailed and never like the Aperta treatment on the 599 and this is clearly taking those cues. Am I being cynical or was it a cheaper alternative than making a proper retracting roof?
Are the rollover bars needed for airflow management? If not, why continually clutter up the rear deck with em? (I'm talking to YOU, Barchetta...) How about a nice, clean design coupled with pop up rollbars? Is that too much to ask for? (Love the red dash treatment).
This can't be good (I had assumed a retractable hard top, but no!) Source: Open fire: it?s Ferrari?s F60 America - BBC Top Gear
Quote from BBC Top Gear article: "So just imagine how synapse-crackling that experience will feel without a roof for protection. The F60 America - named in celebration of Ferrari marking six decades of selling cars in the USA - trades in the F12's hard hat for a lightweight fabric roof useable, we're told, at speeds of up to 80mph. Which means if you want to go faster (which you will), it's an open-air ticket only." Well, the F60 America owners are exempt from criticism for limiting their driving to fair weather.
I like it a lot. A little busy in some areas, but a nice looking design. I love the rear lights. Dig the buttresses too. HATE the interior color but that is irrelevant.
Interesting: Could this mean that we will finally see a normal production F12 successor convertible in the next generation?
I have no basis for this other than its what I think - buying anything "special" from Ferrari going forward, aside from LaF and maybe even including Laf, is a suckers game. like seriously? a convertible corvette for 3M bucks - wld benny caiola have bought one of those? doubt it
Not liking this at all. The 575SA and Aperta were both stunners and the best looking example of each model. The F60 looks more like a Cali T with roll hoops and a Lamborghini interior.
Swing and a massive miss. Not a bad way for Ferrari to make $25m on a kitted out F12 however. Not a good look for their brand IMO.
Ferrari know that a fool and his money are easily separated. I'm amazed that they are able to sell any at that price for nothing at all "special" ... I wonder if it cost Jim that much to make his very, very special P4/5? ... sort of puts this shameful money grab car into perspective! Pete
I think Jim spent something in the neighborhood of 4 million euros for the P4/5. Almost all the special Projects cost around that.
