Why limited to 80mph, never done that before with any other Ferrari soft top?

It's too early in the F12 life cycle for the droptop.. The SA Aperta (which was "limited" to 80) had 120+ produced.. sticker of 600k ish do the math on that That is not money they are going to leave on the table.

Heck I've just learnt something and hats of to Ferrari for being sensible and speed limiting a soft top. They are for cruising and being seen in after all.

I find it amusing when there's a special edition like this to see all the posts, as surely as night follows day, about how Ferrari is somehow pulling a fast one on dumb, rich guys.

These guys were smart enough to get rich in the first place but too stupid to know how much to spend on a car. They're gullible impulse buyers -- you dangle any old pretty bauble in front of them and they fall for it.

    Yeah, that sounds right. :)

Lets see what these are worth 10 years from now.

I bet they hold their value.

When was the last time they did a V12 convertible or roadster in the regular production?

I can't think of one in modern times....

A run of 10 cars is very rare.

I think its very easy to be judgmental from behind a keyboard.

I say congratulations to the people who buy these.

Btw- they won't admit it but they made a few more 599 Aperta than the number you posted...

And they are going for over $1m now....

So if they stick to 10 of these I think they are on solid ground. Even if the price of entry is way too high for many of us (me included!).

And with 700+, red blooded, heart-pounding horses... they should call it the 'Murica!

P4/5 is NOT an SP, and it was closer to $4M. It was a great "bargain", especially considering what the prince offered him for it.

I like it. No idea why only 10 though... Surely that's leaving a whole heap of $$$ on the table for no good reason?

Answering my own question, I think they will make it. 10 f60s is not enough payback for the Spyder concept and we know Ferrari doesn't like to pass up money making opportunities.
