Your problem Faider frankly is that you own the 812 GTS and nothing else satisfies. Lose the 812 (to me) and complete complacency will return.

So I took all of this in and went for a 90 minute drive last night, and a 2 hour drive this morning. I got comfortable with the sound of the F8 engine simply being different than the 812 and I’m starting to come around. I always loved every single aspect of the F8. Just need to get comfortable with a different sound and I’m def getting there. Glad you guys are stubborn re what you like.

I actually miss the sound of my f8 spider. The only difference between what I had and yours was that my cats were 200 cell, doubt the difference is much though.

I am now in an sf90 and trying to get used to the stock sound.

I have a sf90 and considering going back to a F8... I really miss the exhaust note and to afraid to touch the sf90 regarding adding any mods to her. I have herd that is a hit or miss when adding an exhaust to the sf90 because it can be a nightmare .... I will state, the sf90 is the most unbelievable sports car I have owned or driven... wow, just wow

I’ve spent a good amount of time in the SF with AF. It’s an utter beast. I def would not touch anything on that car. F8 is hard enough to play around with. I can’t decide if I should keep my F8 or get a Scud.

Just curious why you are considering going back to the F8 if you say the SF90 is the most unbelievable sports car you have ever owned? We just picked up an F8 Tributo about 2mos ago. Think it is an outstanding car as others have noted and shockingly fast. Only thing it needs is some mild exhaust work like the Novitec non-valved and think it will be perfect. But I feel the same way about our 992 GT3 Touring Manual. Are there faster cars, yes for sure, but not sure there is anything better from a driver engagement standpoint. With the BC Fabs full Inconel exhaust and it is just mind blowing how it sounds at 6-9k.

I also just added an F8 Spider to the garage with a 458 Italia. A company needs to desperately develop a DLC plug-in to prevent codes on the F8 allowing the owners to disconnect the vacuum lines to the exhaust valves and plugged, like you can do on the 458. My guess is no company wants to offer this inexpensive alternative, versus selling a complete exhaust and plug-in. Please everybody continue to reply to this thread with things that work and that don't work. It will help everybody.

the issue is the GPF, not vacuum line/exhaust valve configuration.

On the F8 you can disconnect the vacuum lines without throwing a code....
But it does help only in lower revs

That is good to know. Does anybody have any videos of just that change? It sounds much better at idle before the valves close.

Based in the UK too and been considering this for a while. You could seal the deal for me here.

Thanks mate, much appreciated. Apologies for no exhaust vids yet, I'm trying to build up a timeline of my experiences with the car and not quite got there yet, but getting close!
Can highly recommend Scuderia Car Parts who are the exclusive UK distributor for Novitec Spent a few hours yesterday with them filming video for their own channel which should result in some pretty good videos. They used a professional videographer/drone etc.
My car was typically filthy, but that just adds to the story! :D

I've driven the 812 and 812 GTS quite extensively and love them, particularly the engine of course. Probably the best super GT out there.
However I personally prefer the agility and spirit of the mid-engined V8s, the F8 especially. As somebody once said, it is a Pista Touring, which is a perfect description. A 430 Scud is more raw, but I personally wouldn't be satisfied with the comparative reduction in power and the gearbox is hugely inferior.
Plus, I love turbo torque, it's always fun having access to far more power than grip on demand!
I tired of my F430 Spider because it was lacking in torque which limits the playful aspect I now enjoy in the F8.

I don’t disagree with anything you’re saying re power and the perf of the F8 but IMO there is something so incredible about that 430 engine, sound and the way it shifts. I like that F1 shift. My fear is what you’ve pointed out re the comforts the F8 provides and whether the “rawness” of the scud will get old. I always refer to the F8 as a more civilized pista. I owned a pista spider and truthfully I prefer the F8 given the creature comforts. I’m def a bit torn

The interior of the 430 is very dated now, I couldn't live with it personally. And obviously you will have very limited choice of spec, whereas you say you love your own spec of your F8. Which is what by the way?

yeah I feel you on the interior. 430 I drove had an updated stereo and CarPlay which helped a lot. Not sure I’d make the same move in a scud. Took me a long time to find this F8. It’s a Verde Masoni atelier. Essentially 1 of 1 spec. Not for everyone but I love a good green.

Trust me that’s in the debate in my head too but a reg 458 versus a 430 scud? Doesn’t make sense. If I had my druthers I’d get a speciale but the prices have gone too crazy. That’s #1 on my list but at 750-800? It’s nuts

Wow, that is stunning and totally unique. If you love that colour I can't see how you'd be happy with any other model to be honest. Your exhaust is sorted now? Enjoy it!

thank you. I love it too. Very unique and not for everyone but I love it. Exhaust is a marked improvement. Need to fix the CEL issue which I’ll deal with this week. But def sounds better. I want to ask my guys about the vaccum lines. Curious about that with the novitec exhaust and 250 cats.
