Ok will go for the Fabspeed X pipe my local dealer recommended and see how it feels / sounds. Then decide whether to go for the Forza. Picking the F8 up on Thu or Friday this week...

I'll be recording a whole lot of before / after X pipe for you all ;). I'm guessing I'll be the first to do this!

Issue with Novitec with GPF delete is the warranty, right? Vs the Fabspeed X pipe which is confirmed NOT by Ferrari to not void warranty.

Once the warranty expired, I'll most likely take it a few steps further.

Thank you ! It’s such as shame that upon a cold start the car sounds so good then peters out all together. I wonder who at Ferrari said “hey this sounds good “ ?

It was likely a collaborated effort with Tesla and Dyson.

Nothing definitive until it happens I would guess. Haven’t heard of anyone having a warranty engine problem in an F8 anyway. These cars are bullet proof. I wouldn’t tune the ECU but no problems removing the GPF. Who knows about a warranty fight but I want to enjoy the sound during my warranty years.

The simple, easy and most headache-free way to go is with the Fabspeed X-Pipe, only. It may not miraculously change the sound, but it’s much better than the OEM muffler. The last thing that car (or any Ferrari) needs is a muffler.

I will have to disagree Toyotas are bullet proof not Ferraris.

Andy , could you post a sound clip sometime, please ? X pipe only correct ? Do you feel like it’s 50 pct better or something less ? I can tell you with the Forza controller it’s minimal. Best , Kirk.

Not to answer for him, but I believe he has the full x pipe with gpf delete which without a doubt sounds great. The mid section x pipe alone which leaves gpfs intact is about 10% better (still sounds like a dyson).

That’s why I had to take the plunge and swap my exhaust, the car is much more enjoyable now! Kline 200 cell cats, valvetronic exhaust and Novitec Techtronic. Just did my annual service and the dealership DID NOT void my warranty and they are working with me on it. As always YMMV!

Yes, I need to get a friend to help who has a good camera to get the most accurate sound as compared to my iPhone. Give me a week.

Tremendous effort putting together an outstanding audio/video summary. Thank you. Subjective % improvement? 10%?

Am I correct on my understanding here? I've mulled this over for quite a while so please feel free to chime in.

At idle and with engine speeds <4,000 RPM, the bypass valves are closed, forcing the exhaust through the muffler. At 4,000 RPM or greater, the bypass valves are opened thereby bypassing the muffler. So then, doesn't it follow that both the muffler and the X-Pipe would offer the same exhaust note >4,000 RPM? If that's an accurate statement, wouldn't the exhaust bypass valve represent the most significant impediment to exhaust sound?

Btw fwiw I asked Ferrari service about the Forza conponetti valve opener and it seems to do very little and may show engine light.

For $1600 (+ installation) + no CEL, it seems like a worthwhile modification. It’s got to be an improvement over the muffler, no matter how insignificant!

I believe so. Is there anyway to trim the exhaust valve flaps but keep the mechanism in place so the car still thinks it’s working?
