F8 F8 in Person...wow...just wow...

I totally agree with your in person comments!

 

The F8 has a lot of very interesting details that are only really appreciated in person as you walk around the car and the light hits it from different angles.

 

I agree, totally beautiful. I've now seen it in multiple colors. I think nero daytona is my favorite.

 

100% agree, just a perfect well balanced design! Makes the SF90 look dated IMHO.

 

I've only seen a silver one in person and didn't think it looked as good as the photos. It was sitting next to a Pista, so maybe that was the issue. I'm withholding judgement until I see some other colors out and about.

 

I'm way out of sync with popular opinion on this one.

I love the styling of the 458, 488, and Pista - but not the F8. Front end too messy for me, too many cuts/angles/creases. Side on, it also seems too 'bulbous' around the rear 3/4, compared with its predecessor.

I saw one in person at my local dealership and sadly I wasn't moved. Then I saw a black one in the wild yesterday, and I hate to say this, but... From afar, with the horizontal daytime running lights, I momentarily mistook it for a 720S. Ouch.

Still, I much prefer the F8 to the SF90. I sound like an old git (I'm in my 30s, FFS) but I really haven't been impressed with much new car design lately, interior or exterior. I had high hopes for the MC20, but was again underwhelmed. Bah humbug!

 

Nothing wrong with preferring styles of previous generation cars. Newer does not mean better.

 

Funny I prefer the looks of the F8 over the Pista. Different strokes for different strokes.

But OP yes the F8 is gorgeous in person, way more exotic looking than my beloved 458 spider.

 

I think the 458 and 488 are the best looking cars ever. I strongly dislike the appearance of the F8, both the front and the rear. So much so that I bought my first Ferrari (488) now rather than later because of how the F8 looks and likely the direction in styling those cars are going towards. But, that's just my opinion. Others seem to love it. It's a good thing people have different tastes.

To my eyes, the F8 and spider are the most beautiful cars in production from Ferrari right now.

Sound isn’t the most important thing for alot of people. It’s the total package that makes the F8 so outstanding. Do I miss the F1 wail of the 458? I do but the F8 is so much better in every other area that it isn’t a big deal.

it's not about the 458 per se, but rather expectation of silence or lack of so called negative replies that irks me.
