Agreed it does need some more contrast. Its a race car in reality so could do with some "pimping" Configurator is driving me nuts with the options available
@dustman yes yes yes, order it now please. Would take the STO over the F8 or any new Ferrari offerings today (all day everyday) except the hyper cars off course if money was not an issue Now I am looking to sell my Huracan RWD for an STO, this is the IT car for me which I think I will hold on to
In a perfect world, both. The arrival of the STO (& the recent news of the Merc. smashing the 'Ring record) though, makes me anxious to see Ferrari's latest release into this market of street legal track beasts. I think the F8 is a gorgeous looking car and given Ferrari's ability to produce more toned-down cars whilst hiding its aero trickery within' the body & under the car, I'd like to believe the F8's CS/Pista/etc. variation will be a performance rival to the STO but a beautiful, polar opposite in conspicuousness.
if the f8 beats the performante in a drag race other than just off the line because of the lack of awd, is it safe to assume it will beat this too, probably even more so?
The F8 will crush the STO in a drag race, but then again, the 765LT will similarly demolish the F8. The STO has a different purpose in mind other than drag racing.
Dusty, ordering the same overall theme as you. Barebones, MSRP, and not one option (maybe paint). My days of blowing money on CF this and that are over. Besides, the entire STO IS Carbon Fiber (minus the doors which are alloy). There are zero compromises in this car. It's not a GT car, not a trip car... Its purely for having fun. Lamborghini and only Lamborghini could make something like this. The price is (of course) high but looks like a bargain to me.
that is the color of my first Lambo. Maybe a matte bra. Ordering stickers is silly, you can't clear bra over stickers.
All RWD Lamborghinis have less HP due to traction issues, especially at launch compared to their AWD models. 631 HP seems to be the upper limit of their V10 NA engine and since the STO is RWD the torque has been reduced compared to the Performante in an effort to deal with traction at launch which accounts for the slower STO 0-60 time. The STO will inevitably not be at the leader board in drag racing but it should be a thrilling and highly competent track weapon.
I can’t see that happening. Have you watched that video? It’s astonishing. The track conditions ranged from damp to wet. They probably have some more time they could drop on subsequent runs in better condition. But what struck me the most, was the complete control the driver, Mario Engel, had. If you watch the GT2 RS and Performante videos, you see far less control, and, in fact, you see them frequently surfing a razors edge. The AMG BS performance is shocking.
In terms of stability i think rws give the merc an advantage over the performante. This has them too so might help. I would have kept awd too though and give it more power if possible
Lots of great comments here. Love the white and red above. Sooo tasty. do they make a Spyder version...?!
