Has anyone had official word from their dealer that the factory isn't accepting anymore new orders on F8's? Spoke to my dealer this morning and had this confirmed. 3 year cycle, F8 party is over.
Multiple threads & posts since last Monday eg https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/f8-f8s-gts-closed.649652/#post-148159410
Yes. Was told this by two dealers in Scotland. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I placed my deposit about 2 weeks ago after my dealers owner told me this as well. The car now shows up in my Ferrari site but show it as “waiting list” which I assume means awaiting an allocation. I asked my dealer about it this weekend and he said he was confident I’d get a car but didn’t say when. I assume 6-12 month depending how long this “waiting list” is and how Ferrari does with production in the incoming months/year which is really anyone guess.
I also heard this but also that Ferrari would build any orders they received prior to. I’m a bit disappointed however I won’t be able to order a new 812 gts. Was planning on placing that order in the next few months Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
seems to, about half currently listed on autotrader are priced 400K or higher, the average is moving up, even for damaged cars (i.e. airbag deployment)
I’ve heard that Ferrari also booted wait list customers from queue. Unless your car is in “P” status you are not guaranteed a car.
Placed a deposit on a F8 Spider mid September. Was told 18-24 months and the owner stated that all orders taken before the cutoff date would be built.
W = Waiting List P = Approved by Dealer and in queue 00 = Allocation offered about to go 10G 10G = Approved / Received by Ferrari HQ 10R = Locked No Changes
I struggle to make any sense of this terminology as it seems to imply a dealer would take an order before (potentially without) approving it... (maybe that's just my french short minded logic...)
That is the way dealers operate, at least here in the United States. The order has to be approved by the dealer, which then puts the sales order in P status. Once an allocation becomes available it's pushed over to "00" then "10G" and so goes the rest.
And how about the vin #, when does it appear in the app? Not sure but from what I've read, I understand the vin # is assigned once your car enters 10R. Is there a way to know your order status without having to inquire through your dealer?
That’s what I’ve heard from a few folks about the app now so thank you. Assuming I get the car this will be my 5th f car and they didn’t even have a working app for my 488s. I will say this supply chain thing is nuts. I just bought a new 2022 Malibu surf boat after selling my 2018 and while my boat was just delivered I’m hearing Folks are being told 18-24 months for new orders with no confirmation on price whatsoever until delivery for some brands.
Hi, here in Italy the cut off date was Sept 30th. I was told all the orders placed until that date will be executed and delivered.
But what constitutes an order? A deposit with a dealer? I would think that all preexisting allocations would be filled but a lot of folks are going to receive a deposit refund check.
Fair point, I intended contract signature + deposit with a dealer. Not familiar with NA Ferrari process, but this is how it should work here. Anyhow I will let you know since I did sign on Sept 30th. I don't like at all the idea of having my deposit refunded.
