And appears to provide better cooling in the engine bay.

I love the way the slats look, but was thinking about going the other way an putting a non-slat glass back there to help rear visibility.

  5. That doesn't look right.

I bet it messes with the aero of the Pista.

Keep us posted. Not sure if the whole frame, or just the side venting and lexan are replaced.

I'm not a big fan of the lexan in the F8. Visibility in rain is really bad.

Prefer the standard window in the Pista.

Agreed, visibility is poor even without rain, however, it's good enough to see if a vehicle is behind. That said, the Lexan engine cover added a dimension to the coupe that brought it up to a extraordinary level of styling excellence, with clear lineage to the F40. While to many Spiders are and always will be preferable (and valued accordingly), IMO the coupe's Lexan engine cover reduced the disparity between the two.

I can see the trade-off, but it's hard to see out the back anyway, with he Pista rear lip and being over 6 ft.

I was dead set on one until I drove an F8 and rear visibility was not to my expectations. Looks great though.

Only problem is it’s difficult to determine if that car you’re looking at is a cop or not.

Interesting how we all have different opinions.

When I was thinking about getting the F8 I had the dealer get me the price of the glass as I thought the perspex wasnt for me.

He actually recommended to find a wreck as the price was ridiculous.

Exactly. Diff opinions. One of the major reasons I love the Tributo is BECAUSE of the lexan rear window. Awesome looking, functional and I don’t care if I can’t see out the rear view mirror…

Lexan requires detailing attention that glass does not

well, not really, some care but DO NOT USE chemicals!!!!! No glass cleaners like invisible glass etc. Soap n water mostly and a LITTLE ceramic detail spray is ok also.

the biggest thing is the procedure and materials you use to wash or dry it as you have to be careful not to scratch/swirl whereas glass isn't so sensitive.
