Have been offered a price for my car from the Ferrari garage I bought it from. Rather than selling to them for them to add £20k does anyone ever buy private or is it not really the done thing due to finance etc ? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
1. Keep it 2. If you must sell, let a pro do it, $20k is not worth the brain damage of trying to do it yourself.
+ 1 dealer. For two reasons, 1. You *really* don’t want to have a bunch of strangers/tyrekickers visting your home and car and 2. Most people feel way more comfortable buying from a dealer. Suck up the 20k I say.
Negotiate a sales commission with your dealer. It is a major pain in the butt selling it yourself. I did it and was successful but it really was miserable. You don’t know who to trust. They don’t trust you. These are big numbers you are playing with. It brings out the crazy in everybody.
It may be worth asking other UK Ferrari dealers for a price as well. I have recently sold my 488 to a dealer that wasn’t local - the whole process was very straightforward.
Selling on your own is super easy. I’ve sold many cars including 488s and 3 Porsche turbo S (including my last 2021 992 turbo S) on EBay. For 50$/week is has great viewership. Just have a buyer wire the money and ship the car to them. Given the crazy US Market I sold my 992 for 50k over MSRP in three hours. Using the profits for options on my incoming f8.
