coupes seem to be around MSRP, +/- obviously depending on miles and spec. Spiders seem to be 30-50k over.

This is a slow time of the year in much of the country for transactions, especially with interest rates being high still.

and this is still pretty amazing, given that many of the coupes are 3 years old at this point. Being able to get close to sticker on a 3 yr old car with 2-3k miles is darn good! Go price a 3-year-old Aston Martin or McLaren and see how it looks in most cases.

But how much is the owner really getting? After taxes when purchased plus whatever dealer takes off from “close to sticker” sale, owner is prob out what, 40k? That still seems like a real number when only putting 2500 miles on the car. Yes you get to look at it for 3 yrs also, but still….

Other than a 911 this would apply to every regular production car. Ferrari have always had the lowest depreciation curve of any supercar. I’ve never once purchased a car not thinking I was going to lose money. It is after all eight depreciating asset

I've been considering getting out of my 488 into a F8 but Tampa Ferrari never gets any. I've asked them to put me in a list-call me.

If losing ONLY 40k (barely 10%!) on an exotic sportscar over 3 years doesn't sound incredibly good to you....then I am guessing this might be something new for you, no offense. For the past 20+ years just about every owner would have taken that deal over and over!

Many luxury cars and exotics were lucky if they retained 65-70% of their value after 3 years. And some are WAY WAY lower than that. The covid years really warped everyone's expectations. I remember someone telling me they bought some superleggera or whatnot Aston for over MSRP, and what a great deal it was and how they couldn't lose. Uh-huh.

I absolutely love the 296. And I absolutely want to shoot whoever paired such an amazing car with the worst haptic controls in the history of car design. But I guess it continues the tradition? My F8's weak spot is the exhaust note, no question. 296 fixes that, but gives me an interface that is maddeningly frustrating. It wouldn't be a Ferrari without something to complain about.

I sat and called up and offered $337k several times, got a call back and they said their “previous buyer” couldn’t get approved and said they “now needed to move the car”.

I think there are people getting their 296’s and as a result there’s a little void being made.

Also, fair note… there are a string of cars with a similar MSRP to mine and spec of mine that all have vin numbers that end in…. 3484,3485,3486,3487, etc. and they’re all I think fighting each other to the bottom on price because they’re all identical or near identical specs, I landed on the newer car with less miles and the upgraded stereo instead of Daytona carbon seats… my f12 had those and wanted the upgraded stereo my spec had [emoji3]

Sounds great, I am hopefully going to be getting a novitec exhaust and getting a full new set of ppf thrown on so if you see a white rolls dawn with black wheels that’s me…!

If I end up going I’ll make sure to come stop by and introduce myself!

yes, I am new to this. I guess my thinking was more that you're paying 40k+ for 2500 miles, which still doesn't sound too good.

    but your point is taken.

@jordanfsl is correct in that Covid warped everyone’s expectations. Pre-Covid I’ve had cars that I’ve lost 80k in 1 year with 1500 miles. My Pista lost 40k with less that 1000 miles. Depreciation was normal and expected.

Pre-Covid there was a period of time when a new model was introduced that you could make money, which after a year of the new model turned into breaking even and after that the car would be below MSRP. If I could only lose 10% after 3 years I would be thrilled and consider that a victory.

A great example is look at the Porsche 911. Pre-Covid you could negotiate 5-10% off and dealers had 3-4 cars on the showroom floor to sell. You would buy one and plan on losing money when you go to trade or sell it. Post covid it is an entirely different story.
