Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. On an anecdotal level, I visited the Ferrari dealer with my wife, daughter and her fiancé. When they saw the F8, all unanimously voiced excitedly how beautiful the car was. The Pista was nearby. I pointed out the obvious aesthetic differences which is most prominent in the front and rear. They all preferred the look of the F8, feeling it was more elegant and sleeker in appearance. Personally, I have a preference for the more track focused persona of the Pista.

Well said. I think the Pista is just so much more aggressive and you could say it gets real close to being a fussy look. But, what looks really aggressive and fussy today often mellows with time. I think the F8 is prettier, the Pista is just more wild looking. And you can infer how they drive simply by looking at them.

I can certainly see the F8 appealing to women over the Pista. It’s a beautiful car. Best looking Ferrari since the 355.

This could be done on all previous models and I agree its makes a very nice difference in the sound at lower speeds without having to invest in an aftermarket system or void your warranty.

The addition of the GPF on all models from here on out is what causes the issue. So this can be done on a pre-2020 812 without GPF, but starting with the 2020 model years you cannot do this. Same goes for the rest of the line up. It’s a bummer because the GPF already results in a more muffled sound. On top of that, you can no longer unplug the valves. This is the new norm.

At least, this is what many members with a more technical understanding of GPF claim. I’m hoping they’re all wrong, but I get a feeling they’re not. Time will tell.

Having driven both and owning a Pista- Pista louder, more raw, more visceral. F8 more refined, interior more elegant and less hard core. Power, acceleration similar if not identical.

And there will be no f8 special edition.

I think the F8 is more elegant than the Pista too. Pista just looks the business.
Having followed your posts on the Lambo forum, I get the sense you would be much happier in a Pista. I know you love the raw visceral characteristics of the HP. I think you will lose a lot of that in the F8.

If you're keeping the HP, then F8. If you're selling the HP, then Pista. Just my humble opinion.

I agree that by all accounts, the Pista would appear more aligned with my preferences and priorities. I am hoping to get the opportunity to test drive a Pista prior to the delivery of the F8.

Most people who aren't auto connoisseurs would likely pick the "pretty" car as opposed to the more aggressive. I think we can all agree that they both look great. What throws me off on the F8 are those darn wheels and ride height. Same for the 812, those Z style wheels don't do the cars justice. Fix those 2 things on the F8 and you are good to go.

The standard 5 spoke wheels on the F8 look just fine to me.

Isn't that the reason we all like Ferrari's? That sound is up there.

I think the 5 spoke 488 wheels look dated on the F8 so even though I'm not a fan of the optional wheel I got them.

I agree with you. Also, I think the optional wheels look much better in person. I was not a fan when I saw them in pictures originally. But I have seen them a few times in person and I really like them.

The wheel choices on the F8 are both disappointing, either wheel would be just a placeholder until I find something else. So I went with the standard wheel which I do like but it’s a carryover from the 488 and its cast.
