I've found when in the right gear it is hard to notice. Now if you are in 4th gear running at 50mph then sure you can feel it but if you are in 2nd it feels pretty darn good. Then again in a NA car you wont get the same thrust if you aren't in the power band. 911 GT3 comes to mind.

Being in the wrong gear will minimize torque and power delivery in all engines.

NA engines in the wrong gear feel dead until they hit their rev range. Doesn’t matter the car. I do prefer the character of an NA though, something about them gets under my skin.

I did exactly this. Like the 3 performance, just a perfect daily. Save money for exotics to love.

You wish. For most here I suspect that number is much less. But agree don't worry about it, unless it helps.

Regarding the Taycan. I drove a 4S on the highway for a while. I was blown away at how good it handled and the acceleration. So good- I am buying one this week.

    For comparison I also have a 458, F12 and manual GT3 991.2.

The Taycan made me smile. I felt like I could do anything with the car. The instant throttle response was amazing. The car actually feels light.

The future is electric and it will still be fun.

I will keep my normally aspirated cars for the ICE experience.

Turbos are the worst compromise of all power plants- lag,and muffled engine sound/ noise.

Hybrids are the best performers as the have the best of both worlds- instant throttle (electric) and top speed (ICE)- while lacking the music of a normally aspirated engine.

    The future is bright indeed.

you saw this at a drag strip or are you referring to magazine tests?

  13. Maybe I’m getting old but nowadays I’d rather have a lighter car with less power than a heavier car with more horsepower.

As tempting as it was to get a 765LT (and I had an allocation) part me felt like it was just better to perhaps wait for the Senna prices to fall a bit more and pick one up in a year or so.

Not a bad idea. I think $390k vs ~$750k (if they fall) is still a big gap for similar performance.

I was advised tonight by my dealer that Senna prices have recently firmed up and that nicely specced cars are back at original MSRP. It’s a good sign after having take an initial dip. Apparently collectors are beginning to have a stronger appreciation for the car, especially given that it will be one of the last pure ICE hypercars.

Senna will likely depreciate less so total cost of ownership may be similar.

Correct. Many have been purchased in the last two months. Myself and my friend both bought our new to us Senna's in the last month. We wasted no time taking it out and doing what it does best. (from last saturday). fwiw; I think people are realizing that less is more (get rid of the multiple mid range super cars and go to the most affordable hypercar with little extra $$$); ie; Pista +720 and a couple of hundred thousand dollars and you are right there to get a Senna.

2035 will see the prohibition of the sale of new ICE cars in California.

Are you getting a 765? If so, I would love to get your feedback on the difference between it and the Senna.

  20. Incorrect.

Never confuse executive order with law. The former is merely words on paper until a new governor takes office; the latter are words on paper even after a new governor takes office.

Yes, I'm getting a 765. I should have it in a couple of months. I was supposed to be part of the first round of deliveries (getting ready to ship right now), but it was delayed to end of October.

I was the original owner of a Senna back in December 2018. However, i sold it quickly. I was just minding my business and went to a few track days over the summer at Laguna Seca and some other owners were putting down blistering lap times with their Sennas. This put it back on the radar for me. My thought process was that I would wait for 765 and try it out and then determine whether I would sell 765 and get back into a Senna. However, in the mean time a nice one came up that was priced right and I jumped at it a few weeks ago (former senna owner upgraded to p1).

I regret not spec'ing senna brakes on 765. The brakes on Senna are something else. No rear wiggle of the car under hard braking at high speeds, can go deeper into brake zones and the aero/downforce is something else on this car. Not having the senna brakes on 765 will really hamper it when comparing to Senna on track. It's really going to come down to consumable costs. If senna and 765 are in the same ball park then I'll probably stick to Senna as the go to car for track.

Regarding my earlier comment about less is more; I have noticed this with many people. Not enough time to drive multiple exotic cars and instead of having 3 mid-range type exotics then might as well step up into the hyper car territory (More than a few people who purchased Sennas in the last few months were of this mind set).

I can appreciate the comment about the single car but I like variety. I drive my pista for a few weeks and then switch to the 720 and back. Planning on adding a manual GT3 to the mix when our new house is built. I can see the appeal of a single hypercard but currently im enjoying the multi car ownership.

I have no expectation that subsequent Democratic governors in California will be more accepting of fossil fuels. You ain’t seen nothin yet.
